DO NOT LET QUICK BOOKS DO YOUR TAXES
Quick books is horrible and will be loosing a lot of business. as they now are making us the customer have them do our payroll taxes and you can not change it They were doing my pay roll taxes about 5 years ago and messed everything up they were duplicating a lot of stuff for taxes. that i paid for and i STILL have not got my money back from that and probably never will. I am leaving quick books and i PROMISE if you were smart you would too.
Worst Accounting Software there is!
Worst Accounting Software there is!! Constant updates that you cannot block , and it gets worse by the day. The invoice template that shows VAT does NOT show your banking details, I mean come on!!! The customer service is an absolute joke!!!! Months and Months to resolve anything. DO NOT use this software!! I will be moving on to a new software.
Don't Do it
I believed the sales pitch and downgraded from QuickBooks Desktop Premier to QuickBooks Online. After only 12 days, we are abandoning ship and moving on.
The entire experience has been frustrating from start to finish. The migration process was far from seamless and created numerous issues that required significant time and effort to resolve. Features that were simple and efficient in Desktop are either missing, difficult to find, or require multiple extra steps in QBO.
Usability is one of the platform's biggest weaknesses. Tasks that used to take seconds now take minutes, and the workflow feels clunky and inefficient for businesses accustomed to Desktop. Basic functions are often buried behind multiple menus, making day-to-day accounting more time-consuming than it should be.
The most disappointing aspect has been customer support. Response times are slow, solutions are inconsistent, and it often feels like support representatives lack the knowledge needed to address even common issues. Instead of resolving problems, support interactions frequently lead to more frustration.
QuickBooks Online may work for some businesses, but for our company it has been a significant step backward in functionality, efficiency, and overall user experience. We gave it an honest try, but after less than two weeks we've decided to cut our losses and leave. I would strongly encourage any long-time QuickBooks Desktop users to thoroughly test QBO before making the switch.) a
Corporate greed at its worst
Corporate greed at its worst, insane annual increases for basic services and that technology that never changes and upgrades are a joke. Cancelling my subscription after many years and receiving my 60-day refund guarantee took my over 2 hours. The refund process is separate another completely separate jumping through hoops to complete! I switched to AccountEdge for $30 per month for Desktop version and I was able to upload all my QB date to their platform.
Intuit QuickBooks Pro Plus versus Enterprise
Intuit has pushed for companies using QuickBooks desktop to upgrade from QuickBooks Pro Plus to Enterprise under the disguise it will be more cost effective. It is not. If you have been a quickBooks pro user for several years it is not required that you upgrade. There are many sites saying Intuit is phasing out the desktop versions. This is also not correct, at least as of today. If you do not use the payroll services or if you process your payroll without direct deposit via intuit STAY WITH PRO PLUS as long as you can. Now, whether you use the intuit service to distribute payroll via direct deposit or you write paper checks or in our case, we use our banking ACH directly to employees you now are charged 3.00 per month for each employee. Of course this is not what they tell you when you switch. Someone needs to create another accounting software for small businesses that will be cost effective and transparent. They now have a monopoly on small business software because no one has stepped up to challenge them. I've used Intuit since 1984 and can hardly wait to retire simply because I dislike so intensely being strong armed into using their product.
More focused on advertising affiliates than their own service offering

Run from quickbooks.
Used to have a desktop application that cost $250. Now the minimum spend is $450 annually for a degraded service. I have never cared for quickbooks much, but this abandonment (like many others) of desktop versions for a ridiculous price is too much to take. Other better options now exist.
Hardly use and when I do it's slow and…
Hardly use and when I do it's slow and clunky. They're happy to charge $40/mo though! Missed turning off the auto-subscription by 1 day and they denied my refund request.
I've had QBO for over a decade
I've had QBO for over a decade. Customer service used to be fantastic, but now it is almost impossible to talk to a human who understands the issues. You can chat to a lousy AI bot that doesn't understand what I am asking and provides unhelpful responses.
In the years I've had QBO the price has almost tripled! They jack of the price every single year. Same goes for QB Payroll.
What is most annoying now is they constantly innundate you with advertisements. Funding loans, upgrades, this that and any other thing they are trying to upsell you. I just want to see my data not have to click an "X" to get your damn advertisement off my screen.
Shame on Intuit.
Take Qualified OT Tracking out from Other pay field on stubs
Generally QB Online works out great for us. But please for the love of sanity take the Qualified OT tracking out from under OTHER PAY. It is misleading for employees no matter how much you explain what it is.
Confirmed product issue, no fix date, no workaround, no written escalation
QuickBooks Online has confirmed product issues affecting core reporting functionality, but there is currently no fix date, no workaround, and no written escalation route.
I use QuickBooks Online for business purchasing, reporting, and cost history. The Product/Service filter in reports is not working properly. In the Purchases by Product/Service Detail Report, the Product/Service filter dropdown does not show all products/services, even where those products/services have transactions against them.
This means I cannot reliably access historic purchase prices and cost information through the reports I pay for. Instead, I have had to manually open old bills and invoices one by one to pull information that QuickBooks should provide through normal reporting.
Support confirmed the issue is tied to an ongoing investigation. They also confirmed there is no current resolution, no workaround, and no estimated fix date. My case numbers are 15161483829 and 15161549468.
I requested written escalation because this is a business-critical product and billing issue, but I was told Next Level Help is only available by phone. That leaves no written escalation route for customers who need a documented record.
To QuickBooks’ credit, one support agent did eventually help process refunds for affected billing periods. However, the overall issue remains: QuickBooks has confirmed core functionality is broken, has no workaround, has no fix date, and does not provide a written escalation route beyond waiting for investigation emails.
QuickBooks may be the market leader by saturation, but based on this experience, certainly not by service.
I gave 1 star because zero or negative…
I gave 1 star because zero or negative were not available options.
1 Online QB takes you data hostage. You do not own it and when you get sick of the AI screwing up your books and want to leave it will be impossible to do it seamlessly.
2 Moving back to desktop is a nightmare. You will get little to no support.
3 IES is AI garbage that has not been beta tested, does not match industry standard workflows, and is being developed on the backs of the people paying the ultra high price for the service.
We have had Quickbooks Accounting…
We have had Quickbooks Accounting system for a very long time. We like others are forced to go to online. We are now on our 2nd week and they still have not got us working. This is the worse experience, the engineers should be ashamed of their inability to do a simple merge from a system they built. We are having to do payroll by hand. This is a crime.
Terribe customer service and predatory…
Terribe customer service and predatory billing and autopay. Never use Quickbooks.
If I could I would rate zero
If I could I would rate zero, do not go with this company, my accountant warned me about them, I didnt look at reviews, 1 out of 5, self explanatory, took out 129.64 out of my bank without letting me know and I am unable to get this refunded, spoke to five different people, all useless and telling stories, biggest regret signing up for this company, do not make the same mistake I did, stick to sage or monzo, different class
one star
one star. quickbooks is buggy, confusing, and somehow gets harder to use every time they change it.
they’re constantly moving things around, raising prices, and making basic features feel way more complicated than they need to be. i’m now paying over $1,000 a year for a pretty basic small business setup, which is honestly ridiculous.
the worst part is that there doesn’t seem to be any real competition, so they can basically keep doing whatever they want. the whole market needs more scrutiny, and small businesses desperately need better alternatives.
i also really wish more accountants would recommend other options instead of acting like quickbooks is the only choice. it’s overpriced, frustrating, and not worth the money.
Beyond Frustrated
I cannot even begin to describe the frustration I am feeling with this company right now. I will be cancelling my account as soon as they unlock my account. This account has been locked and inaccessible since last Thursday and NO one is able to resolve this issue. I was with them back in 2023 and cancelled due to poor customer service, however, gave them another try. Will not make this mistake again. DON'T Use QuickBooks. Find another company. I am.
They won't let me access my data, even though they promised to.
25 years ago, it was a GREAT company. Now, it's so terrible that I suspect private equity has bought them.
My original lifetime Windows software license was about $200. Somehow, through all the upgrades over the years, they converted it to an annual fee that is now $1,100/year. So, I changed to Freshbooks.
Intuit guaranteed me 12 months access to my software and data. 60 days later, I get a popup saying "Your 1 year view-only access period is over ... renew your subscription."
I am still on hold with support, which told me that this is not unusual.
BE CAREFUL TRUSTING YOUR FINANCIAL OPERATIONS TO INTUIT QB. THEY WILL SCREW YOU, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.
NIGHTMARE …
NIGHTMARE …. New customer, starting a business, seek / sought a simple solution. Mobile app loads very slow, logging off also very slow, receipt photo not working. On line chat boards indicate others having same issues. When you set up your account, it’s an d services in being upsold at every key stroke. Shockingly disappointed.
