I went to see Jerry Buie for the first time. I didn't realize how the building was set up and I overlooked the waiting room because it was adjacent the building directory which first caught my attention. I wasn't informed to wait in the waiting room prior to our first visit so I found his name and proceeded to his office. His door was slightly propped open so I gently knocked on the door. Bad thing to do! Jerry immerged with a discontent look on his face and told me to wait in the waiting room. It went pretty much down hill from there. I had a lot to say and got emotional, and he started to yawn like he was bored. He then had to interrupt the session by "needing to go pee." Seriously! He actually yawned a couple more times and kept looking at the clock like he couldn't wait till this session ended. Then when the session ended he told me not to knock in the door again unless I'm late. I'll never go back. I felt worse leaving than when I came in.

Horrible Service - Very disappointed

This experience was not a good one for several reasons:
1) The system matches you up with a therapist who may or may not be what you are looking for. I had to reject three or four therapists before they finally gave me the opportunity to select one.
2) You are forced to pay for a monthly plan with mandatory weekly meetings. I wanted bi-weekly sessions and they were totally inflexible. They are more concerned about billing you than helping you.
3) Response times are horrible. I had to wait up to 2 days just to get a response to a simple answer.

I understand it's a business, but being a mental health provider, they have totally lost touch with their clients and the clients' needs. Therapy is about the people, not the money.

We are very sorry to hear your matched therapists weren't who you were looking for, Alfonso. We know it can take a few tries to find that right fit whether online or in person. So, if you prefer, we are always happy to help you find a match on your own.

Also, while we don't have a bi-weekly plan available, we are always happy to see if there are any other ways to meet your needs.

Our Member Success Team is available anytime and typically responds within 1 business day, so it sounds like our messages may have gotten tied up possibly in SPAM or JUNK filters.

I am going to request the email address associated with your Pride Counseling account, via a TrustPilot form you will receive shortly, so we can work together to resolve this in the best way for your mental health journey.

My virtual therapy experience

My virtual therapy experience with my therapist has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we started, he created a safe and comfortable space where I could openly express myself. The transition from in-person to virtual therapy was seamless, maintaining a strong therapeutic connection despite the physical distance. The convenience and accessibility of virtual sessions have been incredibly beneficial, allowing me to easily fit therapy into my routine. My therapist's expertise, active listening, and tailored guidance have been invaluable, leading to meaningful personal growth and progress. His genuine support and empathy create an environment where I feel heard and validated. The user-friendly virtual platform ensures a smooth and secure experience, backed by his dedication to addressing any technical issues promptly. Overall, my virtual therapy experience has been transformative, and I highly recommend Pride Counseling.

Still awaiting a refund …

I am still awaiting a refund for this service which I didn't use in the end , due to my situation getting worse .
They are very talkative until u request a refund.
I would like my money back.

The services they offer do not fulfil my needs at this moment in time , I have now requested a refund from PayPal , they have taken £220 of my money and are seemingly refusing to give it back as I have not used any of their services .

This company didn't provide the service promised…

This company provided very poor service. I was specific with them about my situation and need and they matched me first to a therapist who wasn't taking new clients, then to one who seemed to be just a random draw, of the wrong gender, and with no experience with anyone of my gender identity.

I have informed pride counseling that, as they failed to provide even a minimum level of service, I want a full refund. As of now, they are refusing.

I cannot recommend this company under any circumstances.

Hi Steve,

I'm really sorry to hear about the poor matching experience, as well as for any unhelpful interaction with our Member Success team. Our system should only match you with therapists who indicate they're taking on new cases, so we want to be sure this is looked into further to make sure there aren't technical issues or bugs.

Our Member Success team can certainly help with walking you through a refund process if you make it clear that this is what you need, although we'll usually offer to personally work with you to find a new match that can meet all your needs, too.

In any case, I'd love the chance to gather a little bit of information from you here so I can make sure this all gets resolved for you.

Thank you,
Pride Counseling Team

My therapist

My therapist, David, has been great at digging-up childhood trauma. I must admit in my long 70 years that it's tough to relive those early years and the damage they entailed. We tend to bury those thoughts and feelings and become dysfunctional today.

Great service, great therapist!

Just started my weekly sessions, but my therapist is nothing short of amazing! She has helped me see my situation from a completely different, and very healthy perspective. Her kind, compassionate, but no-nonsense approach is something I was really hoping for. She and Pride Counseling are really delivering beyond my expectations. I highly recommend the service -- especially if you prefer virtual sessions!

I love this service

I love this service! :) My therapist has been the absolute best. She helps me to continue to strive for new goals and recognize how far I've come and can continue to go. She's always open to conversations. I would highly recommend this group to anyone looking for counseling.

I've had 3 sessions now with the counselor I was paired with and found him to be a great match. It has been so helpful. He is a great listener and picks up on things we should talk about. So far it's the best experience I've ever had with counseling and already feel I'm making headway.
