Llandudno's cast iron verandahs

Llandudno has probably retained a greater proportion of the cast iron verandahs to be found in many seaside resorts developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This is largely due to the continuing presence of Mostyn Estates as landlords keeping a level of control on development. Despite the fact that Mostyn Estates were responsible for the design of a high proportion of buildings, there is a wide variety of different designs rather than standardisation.
