I hope you are well. My name is Oonagh and I manage the team that looks after your account at Octopus. It's my job to ensure that your account is in good health and to ensure that any shortfalls in our service are acknowledged. I'd like to thank you for taking the time to leave us your review on TrustPilot, as all feedback is important to us, whether it be positive or negative.
I understand that your feedback is mainly regarding prices and how easy it is for our customers to see cheaper rates. We completely appreciate that having transparency in how you can save is vital, and it's our goal as your supplier to ensure that you feel supported and that you have an understanding of where you can save.
Our standard variable tariff, Flexible Octopus, changes every three months dependent on how rates change in relation to the price cap. If you are on the Flexible tariff, then your prices will change on the price cap dates, being 1st January, 1st April, 1st July and 1st October. If rates decrease under the price cap, then your rates will decrease on these dates.
If there are other tariffs available, we make it very clear on the front page of your statement that cheaper options are available. If there's a fixed rate available then it will say on the front page on the right hand side, if you could be saving money.
As we had exit fees on our tariffs previously, we wouldn't be able to automatically change a customers' tariff as this could create charges on the account, which isn't a decision we can make for our customers automatically.
I will say that should you ever need any advice on how you can be saving, don't hesitate to contact us as we are more than happy to provide assistance and advice to our customers.

Avoid this company at all costs bought a buggy March 2022 first day the front steering went fixed it myself complained was told it's checked before dispatch really .then it develops a fault they immediately took it back then said they had fixed it went for a game it broke down on t first hole they took it back again sent it back it worked for a short time then it broke down again at which point asked for a refund complained was given the extended warranty it was taken back again I refused to take it back asked for a refund they had it for 6 months I had to reluctantly take it back by this time it had cost me £300 t £500 in buggy hire they now don't reply to emails avoid they are truly awful
