The website is highly misleading and appears to employ deceptive practices. Users are encouraged to proceed through the registration process without being clearly informed about the existence, terms, or cost of a subscription. Important payment information is either hidden, difficult to locate, or presented in a manner that is not sufficiently transparent.
As a result, many users may reasonably believe they are accessing a free service, only to later discover unexpected charges on their payment method. The subscription fees are not disclosed in a clear and conspicuous way before payment details are provided, which can lead to unauthorized or unintended charges.
Furthermore, the cancellation process is not straightforward, making it difficult for users to prevent future billing. These practices create a misleading user experience and raise serious concerns regarding transparency, informed consent, and consumer protection. I strongly believe that users should be clearly notified of all costs and subscription obligations before any payment is processed.

"HIDDEN SUBSCRIPTION TRAP"
PDFAID starts with 0,50 euro for a document. After paying, an email is being send with down below in small letters that after 7 days the subscription of 39 euros per month will start (which probably 99% of the customers do not notice).
This way of working is called a 'hidden subscription trap' which is illegal in the EU.
After 7 x 24 hours (exactly on the minute), confirmation of the subscription is send and the amount is reserved from the creditcard.
10 minutes after I ended the subscription and I send an email about what is going on, with the request to refund. First no reply at all. After second time contact I received an email with button for requesting a refund, with standard reply email with information that 'no refund will be given'.
In my third email I was clear regarding the situation if this 'hidden subscription trap which illegal in the EU'. The reply was that are fully behind my decision and that the will refund.
So.... PDFAID makes money by this 'subscription trap'-business model. Probably a large percentage of the customers will accept and give up. But if you keep on trying you will get your money back.
