Avoid this rip off company at all costs.
Avoid this rip off company at all costs. I had just finished a year with this company and used a comparison site to start the next years insurance. Never have I before had to inform the one I was with previously that I no longer want insurance with them. Somehow they always know when I sign up with someone else. Go skippy decide to play dumb and renew my insurance 1 month after I had signed with another company. They then charged me £36 to cancel the policy I didn’t ask for. Dealing with their customer service was stressful. They are rude and dismissive while they constantly talk over you while you attempt to explain the problem. Never again will I take insurance from this company.

Worst experience
Genuinely one of the worst experiences of customer service and transparency I have ever encountered.
I only wish I had read the reviews beforehand, as many describe this business as a scam. From my experience, they appear to operate like a shell or third-party company, taking no accountability or responsibility when issues arise.
The customer service has been poor throughout, with no empathy, accountability, or common sense shown. They were quick to pass the blame elsewhere rather than take ownership of the situation.
I will now be raising my concerns with the relevant financial bodies, especially after being passed over to their credit companies, who themselves seemed surprised at how poor the interaction had been.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are the biggest scam artists I've ever experienced. The rudest customer service department, insanely unhelpful and will rip every penny they can from you

They got it right finally
I’ve just received £25 back because GoSkippy couldn’t get the start and end dates to match up correctly. Now that they’ve finally sorted it, I appreciate the refund.
My only frustration is that, instead of simply saying, “Yes, we can see what’s happened and we’ll sort it out,” I was repeatedly told that nothing could be done. Clearly that wasn’t quite true, as the issue has now been resolved.
That’s why I’ve given a 4-star rating rather than 5. It would have been a much better customer experience if someone had acknowledged the problem from the start and reassured me that it would be fixed.
That said, thank you, GoSkippy, for eventually getting it sorted.
I paid a £160 deposit for my policy
I paid a £160 deposit for my policy, which starts on 27 June. I was surprised to see the next payment is due on 4 July, only a week later. Usually monthly payments are taken about a month apart, so I’m not sure why another payment is being taken so soon.
I had 5 months remaining on my policy…
I had 5 months remaining on my policy and decided to cancel it early. Instead of receiving a refund for the unused period, I was charged additional fees. Ironically, if I had simply let the policy expire on its own, I wouldn't have had to pay anything extra.
This feels like a completely unfair practice and nothing more than a way to take more money from customers who try to do the right thing and formally cancel their policy. To make matters worse, customer support was unhelpful and provided no real assistance or explanation.

One of the worst priced companies
One of the worst priced companies I've been with, original price before I moved was £82 a month, I know it was still expensive!. After I moved they raised it to £106 a month!!, I moved to a nicer area bare in mind I've been driving for 9 years. I don't understand why they raised their price!. To add my partner to the insurance they wanted £120 on top of £106, like her insurance with her car with me on is below £80, I got quotes from other insurances and they offered me £58 with everything on top!, I've been loyal to go skippy for 2 years!, they are just taking money and laughing about it it seems. I highly don't recommend them.

I cancelled my insurance due to finding a cheaper policy(31/05/26). They said the cancellation fee was £145, which I was more than happy to pay. 2 days later I received a threatening email stating I owe them £845 due to them opening a claim,(04/06/26),AFTER I had cancelled my insurance. Avoid at all costs, they are absolutely useless and extortionate.

Avoid these crooks and pick a reputable brand
My gf got insurance with these and added me as a driver to help with costs and my god what a nightmare with a black box just constant threats to cancel bare in mind my gf is a new driver who has just given birth and insured the vehicle barely drives it charged her a big deposit poor girl has done everything she can to keep up with it alm now they cncel after 2 monts keep deposit and charge cancellation fee while making her insurance harder and more expensive in the process. What a bunch of crooks shameful business. No accidents no missed payments just a email daying she isnt using it right i.e. she forget to turn on bluetooth once or twice maybe in a rush to get kids to school and bam theyve cancelled and robbed her. Dispicable stuff. Choose a better more reputable company and avoid using these bullies.
Ill just insure the car in my name fully comp no black box for cheaper next time and add her instead and save her the hassle of being dealt with by crooks

So many charges
So many charges. They even charge you for not giving them proof of no claims.
I wanted to end my insurance one month early. Charged extra for that.
The system never seems work. The website is horrendous. My car blew up, got a new car, obviously needed to insure the other car while it was on the road. I couldn’t get a seperate policy because their system wasn’t working and I couldn’t add the new car onto the policy as they don’t do ‘multi cover’. So therefore I had to takeout a policy elsewhere. And then now I’ve been charged for cancelling early and being charged extra months of car insurance for a car I don’t even have. Horrendous company that I can assure will never pay out if it came to it. They will find every loophole.

Loads of hidden fees
Loads of hidden fees, overpriced, and they charge you for what you haven't even used. When you speak to them they just try to tangle you up in complex company policies and then continue to send threatening emails. Don't use.

The only reason this was as high a a three is because it was competitively priced. I've now learned my lesson and ill go with an insurance provider with better customer terms in future.

Whilst travelling to work my car was…
Whilst travelling to work my car was hit by a deer, as this happened on a dual carriageway and I was travelling at 70 mph it was dark & raining when the animal ran out from the central reservation, I was unable to avoid the collision that ultimately led to my car being written off. The insurance company deemed the accident was my fault ? And as such my NCB was affected, also they refused to give me a quote on a replacement car, the representative I spoke to was very unhelpful, as a result I have taken my business elsewhere (so has my wife, even though her renewal quote was the lowest on offer). I would advise anyone looking for car insurance to avoid this company, who are only to happy to take your premiums, but when the unfortunate occurs, they are less than helpful

Avoid
Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
They are not an insurance company they are just a broker and when things go wrong they will do nothing to help you except for point the finger at their third party operators.i took a fully comp policy, with legal cover. It isn’t even worth the email it’s written on, as there is nothing but fees upon fees if you need to claim.
If you have a car less than 3- years old and you’ve been driving less than 6 months they will add on hidden fees.
I believe i was mis sold as i was under the impression my insurance was with Go skippy but it’s with a company with a call centre in South Africa or Zimbabwe.
A moped crashed into my son in nearly a week ago, i’ve had over 7 calls. Nothing has been resolved and they do not respond to complaints.
You have been warned. Next step the financial ombudsman

Be awareGoSkippy use a finance company for monthly payments
GoSkippy use a finance company if you pay monthly. Unlike other insurance companies that charge you maybe £50-60 for cancelling when you've found a better deal somewhere else, GoSkippy Have charged me £156 . Never have I ever paid that much money to cancel a policy! Maybe an oversight on my behalf, but It wasn't clear to me that they use a finance company to pay for the insurance. Normally if you don't pay your monthly bill, they'll cancel your insurance and rightly so. Why the need for a finance company. Never had this problem with any other company. Also very hard to change details online and they charge you £35 to do it over the phone. I've paid the money as I can't be bothered having more charges on top. I would never use them again!
