I am extremely disappointed with my purchase

I am extremely disappointed with my experience.

I purchased a pair of Miu Miu glasses from Optica Optima, and when I finally wore them for the first time, I discovered that the frame was crooked and clearly defective.

These glasses were a birthday gift, which is why I didn’t properly try them on immediately after receiving them. They are brand new and have never been used.

What is even more disappointing is the complete lack of customer service. I have been trying to contact Optica Optima for two days by phone, email, through the contact form on their website, and via social media. Nobody answers the phone, and I have not received a single reply.

I understand that manufacturing defects can happen, but completely ignoring a customer who is simply asking for help is unacceptable—especially when selling premium brands like Miu Miu.

At this point, I just want someone from Optica Optima to contact me and resolve this issue professionally.

buy in UK and you have to pay fed ex taxes - about £40 on top of the prices - underhand

bought two ( on different occasions ) sunglasses - maui jim - and they seem to be genuine BUT no mention of extra payments and fed ex have sent me a bill for £40 for each transaction. It would be so very easy for optica optima to state that when advertising in the UK but they put in small writing that taxes may have to be paid. Why not say up front that fed ex will be charging for transport etc - VERY UNDERHAND and I don't like the way they operate.

Scam! Don’t order here

I ordered sunglasses and payed for 24-48 hour delivery. Waited 6 days without any message. When I reached out I got the response that the product was out of stock and was not manufactured anymore. So I wouldn’t receive the item.

Very bad service and communication.

Beware of a scam.

Beware of a scam.
I ordered a pair of glasses online and paid immediately via PayPal. I received no email confirmation for either the order or the payment; there was absolutely no response. Subsequent emails sent to the company also went unanswered. However, they did accept the money via PayPal. There was no reaction whatsoever. I suspect this is a classic online scam involving the company's website. Fortunately, after filing a dispute with PayPal, I managed to get back the money that had already been charged. The company is likely already known to PayPal. So, steer clear of ordering from their website.

I would urge UK customers to be very cautious ordering from Optica Optima. And I can see others have had similar if not identical experiences.

I ordered Saint Laurent sunglasses for delivery to the UK. The website displayed the order in GBP and charged me a FedEx shipping fee at checkout. My receipt showed a product price of £135.32, shipping of £5.17, tax of £0.00 and a total paid of £140.49.

After purchase, FedEx pursued me for additional import/customs/clearance charges. The product was only 32p over the UK £135 import threshold, which materially changed the import position. Had this been clearly explained at checkout, I may not have ordered.

My complaint is not that customs charges can never arise. My complaint is that Optica Optima did not clearly and prominently disclose before payment that the GBP checkout total was not the final amount required to receive the goods, or that UK import VAT/duty and FedEx clearance/disbursement/admin fees could be charged separately later.

They relied on a general shipping term saying customs charges “may” apply for countries outside the EU. that is vague and insufficient. It does not clearly explain that the order may be shipped duties/taxes unpaid, that FedEx may later collect import VAT/duty, or that FedEx may add separate clearance/admin fees. This was particularly misleading because I had already paid a FedEx shipping fee at checkout.

I asked Optica Optima several times to show exactly where, before payment, I was clearly warned that these charges were excluded and payable separately. I also asked whether the order was shipped duties/taxes unpaid and requested the customs/commercial invoice. They did not answer those specific points and instead sent generic replies referring to customs charges and their shipping page.

this raises serious concerns about price transparency and the adequacy of their pre-contract information for UK consumers. UK consumer rules require distance sellers to provide clear information about the total price and additional charges before the consumer is bound, or clearly state that further charges may be payable where they cannot be calculated in advance.

Based on my experience, the GBP checkout total was not the final amount I had to pay, the additional FedEx/import charges were not clearly explained at checkout, and Optica Optima did not properly address my complaint.

Ordered glasses online

During my stay in Spain, I unfortunately broke my glasses and needed a new pair ASAP. I knew we were going to pass through Guardamar del Segura, so I ordered glasses online and picked them up as we were passing by. The lady working there was super nice, spoke English, and my glasses were great. Thanks for helping me get my eyesight back!

Unpaid delivery duty and tax …

I ordered IFAWJDNPX Tom Ford sunglasses for £218.00 in April. 3 days ago I have received a bill for £59.92 for unpaid duties of delivery. I have emailed the company twice, messaged on insta and no response at all. I will not accept a delivery paid tax bill from DHL because of their intentional advertised carriage costs making them seem cheaper. It is a misleading purposeful attempt to get your order then you get stung with and additional bill for a quarter of the original cost. A disgrace of way to conduct business and it should be made clear on the order screen. Avoid this company at all costs if you value customer service and not being conned.

Beware of obscene return charges

Bought a pair of sunglasses but needed to return them. When they got to Spain, I was told by this company that they would be deducting AUD$170 because of customs charges! Essentially I got nothing back at all. There should have been no customer charges as the cost of goods was $0 being a return. I would strongly suggest, if you are ordering from outside of Spain, buy from somewhere else.

Ordered YSL sunglasses took 28 days to…

Ordered YSL sunglasses took 28 days to be dispatched I finally received a tracking number and then an email from FEDEX to say I need to pay £43.46 in customs charges for the sunglasses! This makes this particular pair of sunglasses cheaper to buy in Harrods!!! I have emailed Optica twice and no response. I am still yet to receive the sunglasses despite the ridiculous charge on top which Optica should be covering yet they do not reply!

Do not purchase anything from this…

Do not purchase anything from this company. I brought a pair of sunglasses which arrived and sadly I didn’t want them. I returned them as per their returns details and within the time frame and my courier states item has been delivered to them. So as far as I am aware I have done what I needed to in order to send my item back to their address as specified on all paper work and online details and in the time frame. The tracking shows it’s been delivered to their address but they won’t refund me. They take ages to respond to any correspondence and they’re saying it hasn’t been delivered when clearly my tracking says otherwise
I have sent l the evidence to them and they still won’t refund me
Everything I did is as per their advice yet they still won’t refund me
This had been going on now since March and I want my refund

Great experience

Great experience. Ordered a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses at 11pm on Friday. Delivered on Tuesday morning absolutely perfect. And can verify they are 100% genuine.

Persol Steve McQueen Not Recommended

I ordered a pair of Persol Steve McQueen sunglasses, but what I received was completely unacceptable. The Persol logo on the lens was half erased, and the hinges were so stiff that it felt like they would snap unless I used something like WD-40 just to open them.

I returned the item, only to be charged €70 on top of the €15 I had already paid for shipping, supposedly to cover “transport costs.” You’re essentially forced to pay this fee, as they make it clear that if you don’t, they won’t accept the return and you won’t get a refund.

In the end, what seemed cheap turned out to be far more expensive. Extremely disappointing experience.

As the order was placed under my name, you should know very well what's the reference order, but I will put it here just so you can't act as "no reference order, didn't happen". Reference order YMXKAHLIA

Terrible experience today,

Terrible experience today,, I got a price for an eye test of €12, which I said was really cheap compared to England prices and the lady said you even get the money back if you buy Glases. I made the appointment for my husband, and when he came out, he said he was charged €30, I said why did you say something when the young girl was there who give you the price and he said he did and she just turned the other way. So instead of course he just paid it. To top it when I looked at his prescription both eyes came out of the same prescription which is absolutely impossible as when you cover one eye it is completely different to the other eye on reading. This company or not professional at all.
