I guess managing this app looks easy from where you stand and it's ok, this is how it should be :-)
But actually, to make sure that this service continues to exist, improve and grow, we need a lot of people, developers, customer service agents, agents for payments, for trust and safety, designers, content editors, Legal, Marketing, Finances ... We offer a website + 2 apps in 6 languages; a secure online payment system; a 24/7 customer support in 3 languages; a Trust and Safety team running IDs and verifying payments for the safety of the community; a 100% online-managed deposit in case of damages. We offer legal advice to help hosts with local regulations, we negotiate with local authorities to collect taxes on their behalf, we support LGBTQ charities and we use numerous channels to grow the community and bring more business to the hosts. All these services come with a cost.
Our commission is based on a lot of factors and ranges averagely between 6% and 14%. For listings with a very cheap price per night like yours, we have to apply a minimum fee of 10$. I understand you're not happy with it but here's the reason: for any transaction, whatever the price per night. we need to pay fixed costs to our suppliers (banks, payment providers, insurances, etc.). For cheap listings, these costs are very high, thus the minimum fee.
