Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 715 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the customer service to be extremely frustrating and unhelpful, often leading to endless loops in automated systems or interactions with staff who provided no real solutions. People also reported significant issues with products, including hardware failures, non-functional chargers, and software that was difficult to navigate or completely useless. The website and account recovery processes were frequently described as a joke, with users struggling to log in, access their accounts, or resolve issues, sometimes resulting in the loss of important data. Some people were dissatisfied with the overall user experience, noting that accessibility support was hidden and difficult to navigate, especially for those with disabilities. Additionally, some customers expressed concerns about the service's impact on their professional work, particularly regarding OneDrive stripping file metadata, which caused issues with file integrity.

Games

It’s amazing Xbox can sell these games on their platform and then they get taken down. you lose all your money and in game purchases this is fraud as their is no description of them to ever take this down because it failed as a game. You should reimburse everybody who has purchased something in that game or the game itself. It’s not our fault your games falls through and this is not in the description but f these games to ever be taken down, your company is committing fraud selling games that aren’t games anymore. This company needs looking into as they owe billions to people.

WIndows 11 Bloatware

I was forced to move from windows 10 to 11. There is bloatware everywhere that is just hogging my resources. I have a forced overlay game bar, that I cannot disable! There are various services constantly running that offer me no value, yet Microsoft force them in there. This is the most anti-consumer OS I have ever had the displeasure of using. The day Linux has better driver support, I am gone.

How do you mess up so badly

How do you mess up so badly. Why can't i play the games that i've payed for without having a whole meeting with the support team since your new login methods simply do not work? Please, just stop being a company.
Most unkind regards.

I wish I could vote it less, the system sucks trying to keep you up to date, it will just not be available to update when it’s flipping(uck) you, literally, Mac can run it better than this windows update and I wish Apple could just explode and be gone with how shit it is

I'd give less if I could. Account recovery process is a joke. All details given multiple times but no response despite saying I would hear back in 24 hours. Attempting to speak to someone is a nightmare as it keeps looping you back into the online automated system and when you do speak to someone all they do is tell you to keep doing the thing you've been doing for 3 weeks and it might work.

They seem to be wasting money on employing these members of the so called customer support team as they dont actually seem to have an actual job to do

Deceptive Product Descriptions in MS Store

I purchased Powerdirector 2026 Ultimate from the Microsoft Store on June 3 2026. I was interested because the product page stated that it has AI object masking and Cyberlinks product comparison page says that it supports AI Object removal. The information is not correct. That feature is only included in the Powerdirector 365 subscription. The version on the store is a stripped down version of the subscription version. It does not even include a lot of the features of the 2025 version also purchased from the store. If it isn't going to support even the most basic codec support what makes this the Ultimate Edition? I immediately requested a refund because it does not do what it says it does. I was summarily declined. To make maters even more shady, I left a review on my purchase listing the discrepancies. The review does not show up in the store unless I am logged into my account. No Else can see the review. This will be my last purchase from the Microsoft store

Hacked and stolen account

My brother account on microsoft was hacked and the hacker changed the security settings. Microsoft support confirmed that the account had an suspicious access, but because of the security changes, they couldn't do nothing about it. I have a ton of emails and proof that my brother is the rightful owner of the account, but they rather do nothing.

Microsoft Word: Desastrous

Microsoft Word:

One star is too much. The performance of this product has not improved in the last 20 years. Instead, structures of control have been established: This company manipulates your computer against your will!

Reasons:

1. Needless updates against the will of the user that force users to change procedures; normally, the new one is not at all better than the old one. THIS COMPANY IS NOT SERVING USERS BUT PATRONIZING THEM.

2. Unprofessional in typing: You still cannot write Hebrew, Arabic, etc. without risk of heart attack situations.

3. The desktop is illogical. You do not find the functions where you expect them.

4. Catastrophic: Automatic hyphenation is faulty; manual correction of the - quite often extremely stupid – mistakes produced by this programme does not work.

5. Hyphenation made by movable hyphens is not fixed; they disappear also if nothing has been changed in the preceding text. AS A RESULT YOU CANNOT PRODUCE TEXTS FOR A BOOK WHICH WAS EASILY POSSIBLE WITH WORD PERFECT 20 YEARS AGO.

I fear there is no future for this company. In every case, what it produces cannot compete in quality.

They simply don't care about their…

They simply don't care about their users, it's that simple. People writing down bad experiences on various platforms, frustrating over the bad quality of their products, frustrating over the hard aggressive push of their AI-Slop and still MS does not listen. It's like all the sudden everything has to be AI-related and it's disgusting. They simple want more control of your system, more control of your data and so on. And if you doubt that for just one second: try to permanent disable updates or making a local account on your Windows system, try to disable ads or organise your start-menu the way you like? It's just not possible without plugins or mods. You buy a product these days, but you'll never own it.

MICROSOFT: shambolic incompetence!!

What on earth has possessed this company? Incompetence? Stupidity? I have recently had to claim back a double charge for my Microsoft 365 account - refund being processed but no explanation given as to how the double charge had been made. I now cannot get into my hotmail account because the system is demanding I complete puzzles to prove I am not a robot - and neither myself or my partner who is PA to a partner in a firm of accountants can get them right nor is the system sending codes I am to use to e-mail addresses provided or a telephone that they have part number of and I completed. Microsoft - what an inexcusable shambles SORT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I canceled my monthly subscription in…

I canceled my monthly subscription in October and then just realized this month that there was a yearly subscription that was also there. I had a lot of difficulty contacting the company and finally found someone on chat with Microsoft. Of course they hadn’t canceled my yearly when they canceled my monthly because that would be way too logical to do. And then they didn’t want to cancel the yearly because they had a second old email on my account. anyways lots of issues and no resolutions. I just ended up taking away the payment method that they could charge me in the future. Very frustrating company to work with. Too bad their product is so good, but there are other products out there to use instead so I would use them instead.

Microsoft- the worst customer service I've ever experienced

Halifax, unasked, sends me a new credit card. Then they write to me and say my payment to Miscrosoft has failed because I need to tell Microsoft about the new credit card. I can't get into my Microsoft account, so I ring them. A recorded announcement tells me to log into my Microsoft account. And then hangs up. I try to ring again, and they are way ahead of me: before I can speak, I'm cut off. I try again the next day and repeat "I want to talk to a human being." But I cannot get to speak to anyone. I am trying to pay this company for its services! How hard do they wish to make it? What do I do next?

Microsoft used to be well respected

Microsoft used to be well respected, but I hate what they have done to Windows, crammed with advertisement, xbox ruined and now run by the former director of AI slop. And copilot has been ruining Microsoft Office as well. The latest CEO Sanjay Nutella is not up to the task, much worse than Steve Ballmer was. Microsoft needs new leadership. The saving grace is their surface laptop hardware, which is high quality if you ignore the software
