i remember seeing a post that, from what little we are given wrt art's ship-body appearance, it may very well be concluded that art is train-shaped (particularly in terms of replaceable modules + mb being able to gauge their presence/absence = being able to see it more or less in its entirety at once)
i'm not particularly fond of the idea of making art too organic but fish are just kinda Shaped Right for moving through space, you know? even though I don’t think art has the same range of motion or type of movement. think needlefish rather than eel, if anything
anyway idk if this (or a modified version of this) is going to be adopted as my general hc, but do know that it is canon to Surfactant
