It's all good till you claim.

It's all good and easy... Untill you have to make a claim. Good luck getting through and I don't mean just on their (different) contact number, but to someone who can actually help. They are there but they sure make you work to reach them wow. The whole thing is so automated you get passed around for weeks and months. I guess that's why it's cheaper.

What customer service

Customer service what customer service been trying to get my policy cancelled for 2 days filled out the paperwork still nothing.

Don't worry cancelled it myself with my bank read your emails once in a while.

That little monitor in the car is shocking doesn't matter if you drive at the limits the minute you try dodge a pot hole or brake due to cars and bumps you get warnings.

A heartfelt warning to all drivers: Do not be lured by GoSkippy’s cheap prices – it is a psychological nightmare

I am writing this not just out any anger, but out of a deep sense of frustration and anxiety caused by GoSkippy Insurance. I want to share my genuine experience to warn other drivers before they make the same mistake I did.
Like many others, I was initially attracted to GoSkippy because they offered a very competitive and affordable premium. However, what they do not properly prepare you for is the black box (tracking device) they send you to install in your car.
Ever since installing it, driving has ceased to be a normal everyday task and has instead become a constant source of immense stress. The device scores every single journey you take. Instead of focusing on the road safely, you end up incredibly anxious about an arbitrary algorithm judging your every move.
To make matters worse, if your score doesn't perfectly align with their rigid expectations, GoSkippy immediately sends threatening emails warning that they will cancel your car insurance policy. Receiving these constant threats has genuinely turned my daily life into a state of fear and dread. No one should have to live in fear of losing their insurance just because they are driving normally in real-world traffic conditions.
What looked like a good deal at first has exacted a massive toll on my mental well-being and peace of mind. I strongly, from the bottom of my heart, advise everyone to stay far away from this company. The few pounds you might save on your premium are absolutely not worth the daily anxiety and harassment. Please, think twice and do not insure your vehicle with GoSkippy.

Terrible company

Terrible company, had to change cars due to issues with the previous car, was told I wasn't allowed to. Customer service is a joke they talk to you like your a child and sound like their scolding you for being a human being.

We bought a first car for my daughter…

We bought a first car for my daughter and the insurance policy was in the region of £2600. We decided to pay monthly as we couldn't pay the full amount. The car then had lots of problems and was handed back to the garage. We cancelled with Go Skippy a total of 25 days after taking out the policy and as well as the 1st 2 months premiums they are insisting we pay an additional £212 to cancel. The total cost for less than one month to insure a car reaching the total of over £700!! Customer service has been demeaning and rude and I am being forced to pay the additional or I will have a mark on my credit score. DO NOT USE!

The most useless insurance company ever.

The most useless insurance company, I have ever dealt with. They asked for proof driving licence summary, I sent it for my wife also, only for them to lose said emails and cancel my insurance and threaten me with court proceedings, they then found emails but I had insured with someone else, for their mistake I haf to pay £51, to get rid of them, terrible company

Never rate them

I am not surprised to see so many negative reviews about this company.

I called them three times today, and on all three occasions my call was disconnected while I was speaking to an adviser. All I wanted to do was update my insurance policy and add my new car, but it has been almost impossible to contact anyone.

I have purchased a new vehicle and cannot drive it until the insurance is updated, yet nobody calls back, the online service does not connect properly, and customer support is extremely difficult to reach.

This level of service is very disappointing and unprofessional. After this experience, I have decided to cancel my policy and take my business elsewhere.

I would not recommend this company based on my experience.

Useless

My wife is disabled and i deal with all her finances etc, we took out a car policy for my wife several years ago, and i am trying to get details about my wifes current policy, the online portal would not allow me to sign in, so called them on the phone.
I asked if they could send a policy document to what ever email they have on record, but would not do so, I explained that they have my phone number listed, I pay from my bank and i am not asking for details to be given to me over the phone, simply to send them to what ever email they have on record.....they wouldn't do this.

Had an accident on a Friday night and…

Had an accident on a Friday night and dealt with there out of hours team. I needed a hire car and they refused. They refused my claim because I couldn’t give a pin point location of the accident where there was no road signs and google maps had me in a middle of a field in the middle of nowhere. I have been with skippy 5 year and this is my first claim and they are absolutely horrendous at assisting and giving help. Their claims person was rude, talk over you and then terminates the call. I strongly advise not to use this company, they may be cheap and that’s for a reason. I’ll now have to wait for the other persons insurance company to start the ball rolling as mine are not interested! Pathetic bad company indeed.

Bad insurer

I would not advise having an additional driver on your policy. I had my fiancés father on and he had made a mistake when setting the app up. I was alerted by text that my settings for my blackbox were incorrect, but not told it was infact not my app, but my additional drivers app. So I rang them on Thursday and was awaiting feedback to fix it. Come Monday they cancel my insurance because I had not chased it over the bank holiday. The customer service is beyond rude over the phone and the company doesn’t answer most of my emails. Not to mention they have demanded I pay nearly £400 within a month of cancellation with no proper explanation of why expect threats to send to a debt agency.

Renewal quote

Just got my renewal yesterday. Still recovering from the shock. Last year's price was £440 a little high but OK. This year's renewal a whooping £1206. Phoned to cancel and spoke to a lovely women who after speaking to her supervisor was told to offer me a £50 discount. I'm a 57 year old male with no convictions and hold a full no claims. How did they work out that renewal?.

Incompetent and disgraceful service

Incompetent and disgraceful service. They took my no claims bonus, I received a letter from them stating it has returned. This was months ago to this date it has not been reinstated and emails have been ignored. I've sent the same letter many times. I've had no accident at all.

skippy the bushwackers

had my veichle insured with skippy, i paid annually full amount up front,half way through the policy i aquired a replacement car, approached skippy to swap over cars only to find their renewal price was twice of hastings and also other market leaders. i cancelled policy only to be told there was no refund on remainder of original policy they fined me the entire amount owed back to me, avoid them and their hidden money grab techniques. just too greedy ...

Bought a new car and tried to alter the policy. Charged too high of an additional premium so asked to cancel policy. Whacked on a cancellation fee Pointing to T's & C's that were never sent to me and they couldn't evidence that it had been sent to me. Cancellation charges different in the Terms of Business sent before signing up and supposedly after. Appalling Customer service from a contact centre in South Africa. Staff refused to provide surname or job titles. Very evasive in answering the simplest of questions.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with GoSkippy. I contacted them to raise a genuine concern and expected my complaint to be investigated and answered. Instead of responding to the issues I raised or providing any explanation, I felt I was repeatedly pressured to make a payment while my questions were left unanswered.

Rather than addressing my concerns or explaining what had happened, my policy was ultimately cancelled without me receiving the clarification I had been asking for. The lack of communication, transparency and customer service throughout the process was extremely frustrating.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend GoSkippy. Customers deserve clear answers, fair treatment and proper communication when raising a complaint.

Service was ok until I cancelled the…

Service was ok until I cancelled the policy. They charged me £75 cancellation fee. Which is a scandalous rip off. They also said it would take 28dayd to refund any remaining money.
Itdd sad not worth using them on that basis unless they are. Country mile cheaper than the rest because this is how they are recovering the money. Shocking. I will never insure with this company again. RIP off merchants

I went with these as the price was the…

I went with these as the price was the lowest, but honestly the money saved isn't worth the aggro. I've never had an insurer want proof of my licence, my counterpart, my named driver's proof and counterpart. It's a faff that I really don't have time for! Next year I'll go back to my old insurer who was a bit more expensive but I didn't have to jump through hoops for!
