Braid Burn bank reinforcement
Braid Burn bank reinforcement
Three levels of woven willow created on the bank to strengthen a weak point and prevent erosion. The area is popular for dog walkers and this was an easy access point for dogs to enter the river, which contributed to the erosion of the stream bank. The vertical branches holding the weave in place will root and strengthen the bank. See also NT2469 : Braid Burn bank restoration.
