A work of Art

I have taken a little time to submit this review as I wanted to give the bike a good run out. I will say that my expectations have been exceeded on several fronts: Customer Service – with my usual paralysis by analysis and seeking advice (there was no hard sell) and Volt dealing with a glitch with the controller – replaced without an interrogation; and the bike itself. It is a beauty to behold. I never thought I would view a bike as a piece of art – but I do. You can see this has been developed by people who has a passion for cycling – everything has been thought of, even down to the box that the ‘stuff’ (keys; lock’ Hi-Viz vest etc.) comes in.
The Connect is an absolute joy to own and ride. I ride motorcycles and always felt a ‘bike’ was underwhelming as it required too much effort. I bought a couple (non-electric): Trek and Specialized and these ended up gathering dust in my garage and a subtle reminder to me that they were expensive ornaments. Not with this bike!! I am now in the Autumn of my life, and it has been a breath of fresh air. I find myself not wanting to wait to next ride it – crazy!! I will say, if you are umming and ahhing as to whether an EB is for you, as Nike say, ‘just do it’. You will not regret it.

volt Alpine purchased 2016

Just wanted to mention that I purchased a Volt Alpine. back in 2016 and just charged the battery after having it stored in the shed for the last two years and went for a ride. To my surprise the original battery charged fully and the bike is still like new, just had to change the tires and tubes. Not bad for a bike which is 10 years old

Volt Lite

There has been two reasons why I had to contact Volt. A person answers the phone very quickly. Firstly the folding mechanism got stuck and secondly the bike stand was faulty. Both issues were solved quickly. A local bike shop solved the first problem (which Volt offered to pay) and secondly they sent me a new stand.

My bike is a Volt axis 20" folding

My bike is a Volt axis 20" folding top range city bike 2019. I damaged the frame and reported it all to Volt.
They were very professional, polite, friendly and went over and above anything they needed to do. The communications very good and the repairs they finished went beyond what was required including fitting a new centre stand I forgot I had broken off years ago.
My beautiful bike came home looking like new and the ride was improved felt smoother. I cannot reccomend Volt high enough, I am so impressed with this level of service, the attention to detail, very professional company. I really hope this helps someone, from Chris

Puts the fun back into cycling

First of all, a big "Thank you" to Mark from Sinclair Cycles (Kinross) for answering my questions and arranging a test ride. The Volt Alpine has put the fun back into cycling for me.

avoid

Bought volt London which they have now discontinued
Pedals fell off on first couple of rides
Back wheel collapsed within a month requiring it to be rebuilt
Had to do a warranty claim on the fork as there was an issue with the weld on the join, and now have the same issue again after had the fork replaced 2 months later

Buy elsewhere these clearly aren't built to last

Unclear processes, systems and timeframes for faults

We purchased a bike in September 2025, and overall the bike itself has been excellent and well suited to our needs. However, we are now experiencing issues with both the battery and charger.

The charger cable has snapped at the point where it connects to the battery, leaving the charging port full of debris. As a result, the battery is no longer accepting any charge.

Unfortunately, the returns and resolution process has been unclear and poorly managed. There was no clear communication on next steps, timelines, or resolution.

In particular, Michael’s communication and approach have fallen below an acceptable standard, and his manner is not appropriate for customer facing role.

Great bike

Great bike. Love the style. The wheel lock and heavy chain lock are a great idea. I like the way I can turn the lights on while I'm on the bike. It's easy to use and being my 3rd e bike over 12 years, it's my favourite for sure. Wish I'd gone to volt for my first one. Only done short runs so far, but looking forward to longer rides when the weather turns better.

Helpful customer service

Helpful customer service, prompt delivery to a local cycle shop who set up the bike and explained how it works. Have really enjoyed riding the bike and getting used to it.

Inaugral ride was electric!

Have owned the bike for nearly three weeks before using a break in the incessant rain to take my first ride. Immediately felt the difference with the power on FULL, especially when setting off on a hill. It's almost imperceptible the amount of assistance the electric motor gives; and it takes you by surprise when you realise it's a third quicker than the conventional bike. Sheffield is very hilly and it makes a massive difference; you still need to put some effort in, but my nearly 70 year old heart is much happier!

Volt lite foldable e bike

Easy to order on the Volt website. The bike was delivered in a few days to a local volt dealer who assembled it ready for collection. Having ridden the bike for a good 50 miles I’ve found it to be responsive with sharp handling and the build quality is excellent. Customer service is first class giving me confidence in maintaining the bike going forward. I look forward to more interesting products from the company in the future.

The Volt Connect has revitalized my life post-retirement, allowing me to accumulate many miles. Riding it is a pleasure, and the pedal assist makes tackling hills delightful. I acquired a demo bike, and I'm thoroughly satisfied with this smooth buying experience.

2 Year Old Volt bike repaired and returned, great service

I have owned my Volt bike for 2 years, it was one of the best purchases I have ever made. I use it most days for a commute to work about 15 minutes each way. I occasionally use it for further commutes and the battery life is fantastic.
I recently had an accident where someone reversed into me. Damaging the rear wheel.
I took it to volt bikes they quickly arranged for the bike to be inspected and reported damage to the frame and rear wheel. A new frame was arranged along with rebuilding the motor into a new wheel. for speed I agreed to a slightly different colour frame (which I prefer to the original). The quote was provided quickly so I could collect the money from the third party. The bike was repaired and returned to me super quick and I was happily back on the road.
Then a couple of days later, as a good will gesture I was offered an extension on my warranty.
I can safely say Volt bikes and the team in London have provided a fantastic service. I cannot recommend them enough.

Do Not Order Online, Extremely Unreliable

My wife ordered an e-bike from Volt in October, with a confirmed delivery date of 24 November. Not only did the bike not arrive on time, but after an additional two-week delay, Volt informed us that they would not be able to deliver the bike until January 2026. This was shocking and demonstrates extremely poor operational management.
Because of this failure, we have been forced to spend £300–£400 every month on shared e-bikes (Forest, Lime, etc.) just to meet our daily transportation needs. Volt has not offered a proper refund with compensation for the financial losses their delays have caused.
Based on our experience, I strongly warn others: do NOT order an e-bike from Volt unless the bike is physically in stock and ready to deliver immediately. We are deeply disappointed and have now started formal legal action to recover the losses caused by their delays.
This has been one of the worst purchasing experiences we've ever had. ( included my order number for verification)

Metro LS ebike: absolutely wonderful

I bought a Metro LS ebike about 6 months ago, and I absolutely love it. The bike looks fabulous, feels extremely well built, and rides like a dream.

All the features are of a a high quality - the seat, lights, handles, even the bell. I haven't felt the need to upgrade anything. The bike is very comfortable and easy to ride.

And in terms of power, I've been really impressed. There are four speeds but I've rarely needed to go above level two - even with the stiff coastal breezes and steep hills where I live. There's a small lever that gives you a little extra push when you're setting off, which is also helpful.

This is my first ebike and I found it super easy to get the hang of the controls. It's a folding bike with smaller wheels, which makes it very manoeuvrable. Best of all, it's great fun to ride!

Highly recommended. Ten out of ten.

The handlebar folding mechanism snapped…

The handlebar folding mechanism snapped and I was left holding the handlebars about a foot off the bike. I was lucky I wasn't hurt. I was surprised to find the response from volt went within three interactions from:
1. Sympathy, with an assurance they'd collect the bike and fix it
2. A payment link for a new part, no instructions, a caveat that the part snapping was probably my fault for not checking it enough
3. Being told they never pick up bikes, no sympathy. A promised callback from another department that never happened

Pretty shoddy stuff, and I'm worried to ride the bike again given how a load bearing aluminium piece sheared off mid-ride.
