Bad customer service

I tried to open a simple bank account, and they were bundling conditions unnecessarily. I did not have a positive feeling dealing with them. I have the feeling was communication issues and poorly managed by the officer in the Branch.

The worst bank you can ever have

The worst bank you can ever have. Stay away from opening a new bank account. Everything is slow, no instant payment. It’s really old school bank and they’re lias. Customer service is 0. Not recommanded

Failure to communicate

I sent Argenta an email explaining that I was an ex-Belgian wishing to open an account for the purpose of depositing my modest Belgian pension into it. I received a computer-generated reply, saying "Hartelijk dank voor uw e-mail. We doen het nodige om u zo snel mogelijk een antwoord te bezorgen." After that, nothing! They didn't even have the courtesy to reply. I had read some good things about Argenta, so I was disappointed. They are based in Antwerp, where I was born and raised, which makes it doubly disappointing. I guess you don't want my custom, that's sad but it's OK.

They are the best in their scope.

They have a clearly defined scope (day-to-day family banking and investing) and they do that very, very well incl. efficiënt personal service when you need it - e.g. when you inherit from a relative.
No wonder they consistentie rank at the top of satisfaction rankings from the consumer´s organisation.

Communication is one their weakest points

They send me a letter casually stating they blocked my accounts because they don't have updated information about me. That is not something you do as a decent business in the first letter you send people.
What kind of a communication policy is this? "We hold your money ransom until you come to our offices to sort things out". No way!

Do not use this bank

Do not use this bank. After forgetting to change address information for several years on an unused account, I get a message from an incasso bureau that I am in debt. This because of a change that they did from a free account to a paying account. All communication is done using postal mail. Even a registered letter was sent, but not received by me. No attempt to use phone or mail was done, they rather sent an incasso bureau then picking up the phone just to inform me of this.

incompetent, unqualified and bad customer care

In short 1. When requesting our renovation loan, they forgot to inscribe us to apply for the interest-free renovation premium so that we would get back the interests we are paying for. Mathias forgot to do so while he had asked us if we wanted it and of course we had said yes.
2. Instead of sending a letter a few months before the period in which we had to request our full renovation loan, they sent a letter when the time was up that we hd to pay Argenta a certain amount because we did not request it in the delimited period of time. Another good reason to take money from their customers.
3. During the communication between Axa (the other person's insurance) and Argenta (our insurance policy), they assume that because there was damage to our stove (by a third party, thanks to Axa intervention) that there was fire damage while what happened was something totally else.
4. The application is often down, it takes way longer than with other banks for the other person to receive my payment. I can't download a payment as a pdf. Paying higher amounts online or in shops fail (super frustrating) even after we adapted the limit amount.

Nice Bank

I like this bank. Great customer service. They have free accounts as well. The only downside can be that their app and website do not support English.

I also have the experience to open an account in KBC. Argenta is quite better.

MOST DISHONEST bank ever

MOST DISHONEST bank ever! Incompetent staff! They practically stole from me by not disclosing important information. They never reply to emails. I will denounce them at the consumer protection authority and will sue them if necessary.
