- Leeds United have a spiky relationship with a few English football clubs, but Manchester United is the Whites’ big rival, and Leeds vs Manchester United tickets are in high demand.
- In fact, this cross-Pennine derby has roots going back hundreds of years to the 15th-century Wars of the Roses between the House of York (White Rose) and the House of Lancaster (Red).
Now, in the 21st century Manchester United have had an overwhelming upper-hand in this matchup, but Leeds have still had their moments, including an unforgettable 1-0 away win at Old Trafford in the FA Cup in 2009/10. Jermaine Beckford squeezed home the winner that day.
One of many great things about Leeds being back in the Premier League is the chance to gain that first league win over the Red Devils since Harry Kewell netted the winner at Elland Road in 2001/02.
Buying Leeds United vs Chelsea Tickets
- Get Leeds United vs Chelsea tickets, starting at $292 and going up to $2,914 on our platform.
- This derby goes back to the 1960s and 1970s when Leeds and Chelsea were close rivals on the pitch, and just as hostile off it.
- As two of the best teams in English football in 1969/70, LUFC and CFC met in the FA Cup Final, drawing 2-2 and Chelsea winning the replay 2-1.
- That replay has gone down as one of the most violent matches in the history of the English game. After watching it again in 2020, modern-day Premier League referee Michael Oliver claims he would have issued 11 reds in that notorious match.
- Given the different recent histories of the two teams, Chelsea dominate the head-to-head, but Leeds United landed a blow in 2022/23 with a 3-0 win, with Aaronson, Rodrigo and Harrison on the scoresheet.
