Thank you, @SphinxKnight, for everything you have done over the years, and for the time we spent together when MDN moved to GitHub and you emailed me in 2020 to recruit me to the team as a proofreader.
At the time, I didn't think I would be so visible in the small activity I was doing, and today I have taken up the torch with a strong conviction that there will always be someone who needs this impressive documentation. And I am taking advantage of the time I currently have, while I am not working, to ensure that as many people as possible can continue to benefit from information that will be useful to them throughout their learning or career 👀
With big goals to revive the foundational parts of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and get "Learn" area back on track.
I was honored to have you by my side and to be able to continue the work that began long before my first small contribution to the image formats guide :D (I still use Gremlins and Grammarlecte since our first discussions on Element).
All the best to you in your professional and personal life 🙏🏻 And I wish you all the best ❤️

@SphinxKnight Although it saddens me to see you go, I am honored that I had the chance to work with you during the last few years! You are the one who introduced me to MDN l10n-fr, you always guided me with incredible patience especially when I didn't know anything yet about localization techniques or how Thank you for all of your dedication and guidance - wishing you all the best :) |

LGTM for l10n-zh.
@SphinxKnight. It was wonderful working with you here. You brought about significant improvements to the translated content, and I gained much insight into MDN's maintenance processes from you. Thank you for your efforts on MDN ;)

Thanks for all of your work and contributions! You've touched a lot of code, and with that you touched many collaborators and readers with your efforts! Best of luck and don't be a stranger 🙏🏻 |

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this, @SphinxKnight, and for doing so with such thoughtfulness and care. First and foremost: thank you for everything you’ve contributed over the years. A decade of work, energy, and presence in the MDN and Mozilla ecosystem is no small thing, and its impact clearly goes well beyond commits or roles. You’ve helped shape people, communities, and the docs themselves - and that matters. No apologies needed for the timing. Life shifts, priorities change, and stepping away thoughtfully (as you’re doing now) is something we genuinely appreciate. Thanks as well for flagging the access side of things and being proactive about reducing any potential risk, that’s very much in the spirit of responsible stewardship. On a personal note: it’s been an honor to cross paths through this work. I’m glad you’re prioritizing what brings you clarity and energy next, and I hope the next chapter treats you well. Please know you’re always welcome to say hello, and I truly wish you all the best going forward. 🫶 |

Description
TL;DR @mdn/core @mdn/mdn-community-engagement, I'll remove myself from @mdn/yari-content-fr after posting this. I am not aware (or I don't recall) of any existing privileged role elsewhere on GitHub, feel free to delete/revoke any particular authorization.
My last commit here is over a year old and a proper goodbye is long overdue.
Sincere apologies @cw118, @tristantheb for the delay, you deserve better.
Long story
A 10 years chapter, started in 2013, has come to an end.
Thank you
Thank you @Elchi3, @teoli2003, @JeremiePat, @goofy-mdn for everything along the way. You changed a significant part of my life and I have learned so much.
Will, Chris, Eric, Janet, Claire, Pascal, Sebastian, Ryan, Schalk, Théo, Alizée, Benoît, Queen, Thierry, FredB, if you read those words, it has been a sincere honor and pleasure to work with you. For those I have forgotten to name here,
@tristantheb, I am grateful for the efforts and tireless work you continue to do to maintain the French section of the docs 🙏 If you ever need a hand, please reach out.
@mozilla a kind of bittersweet goodbye, thank you for enabling communities like you did in 2013. Thanks a lot for providing the MDN team the occasion to invite me around the world several times. Thanks for letting me chat, fiddle, hack, with wonderful individuals. I do hope the compass is not broken, especially for localization and communities and that other contributors will benefit the same fertile ground that allowed me to learn and contribute this much.
@openwebdocs keep rocking, keep doc-ing, I'll continue backing your initiative for a sustainable doc platform. Sounds cliché, but we need valueing this kind of structure and work more than before. Thank you!
Why
I have has less bandwith than I had in my personal life. My day-to-day work is less web-facing than it was.
I remain affected by some of Mozilla's choices around (layoff, ads, AI, discord).
In other words, this does not quite spark joy as it did and I need to move on :)
Next
I hope @tristantheb and the French speaking community around Mozilla projects (Fx, SUMO; etc.) will find the right resources to continue this. Learning, crafting, writing, reading, building teams, whether on/for the Web or elsewhere
If you read those lines and wonder if it is worth it to continue localizing docs today, give it a try, either for yourself or for others. It may change your life :)
