Some Linux distributions warp it by gdb -q -x:

Nice trick, but what's the use, why should someone run GDB like this? If it's to have an opt-in way to use the dashboard, there are a lot of other ways. It's a bit weird to have a configuration file which is also an executable.

This provides another method to use this project.

mv /the/path/of/gdb-dashboard/.gdbinit /usr/bin/gdb-dashboard

Now run gdb-dashboard will get a gdb with dashboard, which will not effetc original gdb.
