Reactions and Reviews
1994
"A Slightly Different Cave Story" is a silly bit of fluff by Karla Kelly. It barely makes it past 2 pages and only then because of BIG TYPE. But it's cute and fun. [1]
In the meantime, I read this story several times and each time it's as funny as in the beginning! And the plot is striking. [2]
1995
I liked this, taking one aspect of the dynamics between Kirk and Spock and playing it up in this clever way. These are the results of psyche scans given the captain and first officer. "Imagine you're trapped alone in a cave." Of course each of them adamantly expresses the other man's intrinsic part in this scenario of rescue. In their deepest selves, neither can possibly conceive of letting down or being let down by the other.
An enjoyable, delightful story. [3]
