MEMC

[edit]

MEMC is a producer of polysilicon and silicon wafers. Why was it deleted from the list?

There are many distinct categories of silicon production, including poly for photovoltaics and wafers for integrated circuits. For the latter, the number of major manufacturers worldwide is small. This is particularly true for large-diameter (e.g. 300mm) ingots. These major producers should probably be listed under this topic. Many of them were listed earlier in the history of this page, and it appears that no justification was given for removing them. Thermochap (talk) 00:51, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It (or parts) was taken over by GlobalWafers, read https://www.sas-globalwafers.com/en/globalwafers-and-sunedison-semiconductor-announce-definitive-agreement/. The English article (list) is out-dated. I updated the German article completely.
