Critics Consensus

A threadbare story anchored by strong performances, Then She Found Me is a mostly successful directorial debut by Helen Hunt.

Dena B Tough situations sets the perfect stage for broken-hearts to get a 2nd chance at love. Well written, directed and delivered. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/09/23 Full Review Chris M This could have been slow but good. But it shows all the funny scenes in the trailer. The pacing is dead slow and I doubt the orphanage would have found parents for her the same day she gets dropped off for her to read the names, let alone commit it to memory enough to remember enough to find it. It was probably just a quick glance. The characters are very likable but the story and pacing just doesn't work for me. Not a complete waste of time, just not for me and I can't recommend it. And again, movies should not be rated-R just because of language. Kid's general don't encounter sex, nudity, graphic violence and I mean graphic violence or hard drugs in their day to day lives. Unless you live in Amish country then kids hear "bad" language probably EVERY day. It's bullshit. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/14/23 Full Review
