Dena B Tough situations sets the perfect stage for broken-hearts to get a 2nd chance at love. Well written, directed and delivered. The pacing is dead slow and I doubt the orphanage would have found parents for her the same day she gets dropped off for her to read the names, let alone commit it to memory enough to remember enough to find it. It was probably just a quick glance. The characters are very likable but the story and pacing just doesn't work for me. Not a complete waste of time, just not for me and I can't recommend it. And again, movies should not be rated-R just because of language. Kid's general don't encounter sex, nudity, graphic violence and I mean graphic violence or hard drugs in their day to day lives. I would not know. This is a drama told lightly with some funny moments. Simple, yet engaging. Realistic yet entertaining. Every character in it is likable sans Mathew Broderick('s). I do not know how many directing Helen Hunt did prior to this but she produced a fine work. Recommended. Janeane Garofalo and Tim Robbins make brief cameo appearances as themselves.
