Automated driving in depots, tested through numerous global pilot projects, is a complex challenge requiring specialized vehicle components and regulatory approvals. However, PSI in collaboration with Unikie – a Finnish software engineering and innovation company - will demonstrate that modern standard buses can meet these challenges head-on. Here’s how it works: The PSI Depot Management System PSItraffic/DMS directs the bus to its destination, while the UNIKIE Marshalling System ensures the journey is smooth and secure. Success hinges on three critical factors: the Marshalling System`s ability to provide real-time situational awareness of the depot, process the data, plan an efficient route, and execute it safely - because safety is PSI´s top priority. This use case is based on initial results of the IDEA research project, funded by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport. The focus was on the 𝐞𝐂𝐌𝐑 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, which aims to drive the digitalization and standardization of consignment documents.   The working group handles key industry challenges, such as the 📄 𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐬,❌ 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, and partner hesitations—especially with high-value goods💰.   Their solution: an 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧-𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 solution for digital transport documents covering all modes of transport 🚛 🚂 ✈️ 🚢, enabling secure and efficient document exchange. At the TMS conference being hosted by DVZ Deutsche Verkehrs-Zeitung on November 5, Dirk Gladiator will give a presentation on the topic "Mastering international formats safely: Digital air and sea cargo processes." 🚢✈️ His ability to focus on two modes of transport simultaneously is due to his wealth of experience and his dual roles.🔄 As an authorized signatory at DAKOSY, he has been instrumental in establishing the Port Community System for Hamburg. As a managing director of allivate, the joint venture between DAKOSY and Fraport, he is working to further expand the Cargo Community System at Frankfurt Airport. 🪄 He has revealed to us in advance exactly why he finds such platforms so magical. For him, the most important thing is that "people within the community find a common denominator for collaboration."
