Don Omar hits No. 1 on Top Latin Albums for a fifth time, as his new release, The Last Don ll, opens atop the list (dated July 4) with 7,000 copies sold in the week ending June 21, according to Nielsen Music. It concurrently crowns Latin Rhythm Albums — Omar’s seventh leader on the tally.

It ties him with Daddy Yankee and Wisin & Yandel for the most No. 1s on the chart. Omar’s latest set comes 12 years after its first installment, The Last Don, which peaked at No. 2 on the chart and has sold 411,000 units to date.

The latest single from the new album, “Perdido En Tus Ojos” featuring Natti Natasha, hops 18-14 on Hot Latin Songs, a new peak, taking Digital Gainer honors (up 30 percent to 4,000 downloads). Dominican singer Natasha was also featured on Omar’s “Dutty Love” which spent a week atop the chart in 2012.

Chino & Nacho Notch Tropical No. 1:  Venezuelan duo Chino & Nacho soar 10-1 on Tropical Songs with “Me Voy Enamorando,” featuring Farruko, to score its seventh chart-topper. A 49 percent spike in plays propels the pop track at the airplay format. The pair, who often straddle genre lines between tropical, pop and urban, first reached the top when “Nina Bonita,” a merengue track, spent four crowning weeks in 2010 — the act’s longest-running No. 1 to date.

Featured singer on “Enamorando,” Farruko scores his second No. 1 with the Tropical Songs climb. The increase in airplay also helps the track stay put at No. 24 on Hot Latin Songs for a second consecutive week. A video for “Enamorando,” released May 7, has collected more than 40 million worldwide views to date.

El Komander Commands With First No. 1:  Over on Regional Mexican Songs, El Komander reaches No. 1 for the first time with “Malditas Ganas” (up 2 percent, to 7.9 million audience impressions). KMYX in Bakersfield, Calif., championed the track, spinning it 65 times during the tracking week ending June 21.The bump in airplay supports a 9-8 rise on Hot Latin Songs, where it also takes the Streaming Gainer tag (increasing 41 percent to 778,000 weekly streams). YouTube views accounted for the biggest bulk of plays across streaming services, logging 79 percent of overall clicks.
