Ever wondered what a Community and Talent Champion's day looks like? Here's a snapshot of my last 24 hours.. 🏢 Hosted our first impromptu meeting in our beautiful new building (still almost moving in! 🤞). 🎒 Celebrated our son's first day of 1st grade. Of all the "firsts" I get to be part of in my roles, his will always be my favorite. 🤝 Attended the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Congressional Luncheon with leaders from across the state. No two days are ever the same, but one thing stays consistent: connecting with the people and places that make life worth living. From conference rooms to classrooms to community events, the places are always changing. But the mission stays the same- create genuine connections that leave people, organizations, and communities better than we found them. Feeling incredibly grateful after last week’s Association for Talent Development conference in LA!🎉🎥🎬 The energy around AI 🤖, learning, and the future of work was inspiring of course, but what stood out most was the PEOPLE. So many thoughtful conversations about how we can embrace disruption in the explosion of AI, while still keeping HUMANS at the center of learning.❤️ Headed back to Meissner excited, curious, and grateful for new ideas to bring to our extraordinary teams. “Embrace disruption. One of my favorite Meissner cultural behaviors is to “embrace a restless dissatisfaction with the status quo.” It’s a mindset that keeps you curious, and keeps you moving. Not because what we’re doing isn’t good, but because we know it can be better. After convening in New Orleans, I’m feeling energized about what’s ahead for Athens-Clarke County. Through our partnership with Jobs for the Future (JFF), it’s clear we already have the pieces: passionate educators, engaged employers, and community leaders who care deeply about student success. The work now is bringing those people together and making sure students are at the heart of the solution. Because when students understand what’s possible, it opens doors they didn’t even know existed.
