America can't win the global #AI race with a permitting process that drags its feet. In a new Route Fifty op-ed, leaders from National Governors Association and USTelecom | The Broadband Association make the bipartisan case that slow, fragmented permitting is what stalls the fiber and broadband infrastructure the American economy runs on. Lumen Technologies stands with this call for reform: efficient permitting is essential to building the fiber networks that power America's communities and the economy. 📄 Read more: https://bit.ly/4q8BzkM

It was great to see our own Tzeitel Buchanan & Dezeray Edwards representing our team at the recent Tulsa Regional Chamber's State of Workforce & Talent event. The pair joined a wide range of industry leaders to discuss how #AI, cybersecurity, and Tulsa's growing tech gravity are reshaping both the workforce and the infrastructure behind it. Lumen Technologies is proud to be part of the conversations shaping the future of the #PublicSector.

As public sector organizations accelerate AI adoption, the focus is shifting from experimentation to execution. In this GovCIO Media & Research virtual panel, Lumen Technologies’ Campbell Palmer joins fellow leaders from Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and The National Institutes of Health to discuss data modernization, governance and cybersecurity. 🎥 Watch here: https://bit.ly/4vPVQfT #GovFocus #MissionReadyWithLumen

We appreciate Senator Todd Young's focus on the permitting challenges facing fiber huts in yesterday's Senate Commerce Hearing. Fiber huts are a critical piece of the connectivity infrastructure powering America's #AI future. Lumen Technologies joins USTelecom | The Broadband Association in calling for permitting reform that helps modernize processes and reduce unnecessary delays. When infrastructure can be built in months but permitting can take years, it's clear there's an opportunity to move faster. Aligning policy, capital, and urgency around infrastructure can help unlock AI at scale in the U.S. and keep global leadership here. Interested in the conversation? PAPERWORK. 😖 It's one of the biggest barriers to America's digital future. Our CEO Jonathan Spalter and National Governors Association's Dr. Brandon Tatum unpack that argument in a new Route Fifty op-ed, making the case that if our country is serious about AI leadership, economic growth, and connecting every community, we need permitting that accelerates infrastructure - instead of delaying it. There's something special about bringing together technical training, culture, and community. Today we wrapped up the three day FOA Bootcamp for Clearfield's Tribal Broadband Training at Tri County Tech in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. It was inspiring to see participants from the Cherokee, Muscogee (Creek), Osage, and Tonkawa Nations learning new skills that will help expand broadband access and create opportunities across Tribal communities. A special thank you to Clearfield's COO Johnny Hill for his on site commitment throughout the training. Leadership is about more than setting direction. It is about showing up, investing in people, and demonstrating a genuine commitment to workforce development and Tribal partnerships. To close out the week, we welcomed the Clearfield team and students to our family farm for a BBQ. Beyond sharing a meal, we shared our family's story rooted in Cherokee culture, community, and generations of public service. Those conversations reminded us that broadband is not just about fiber and technology. It is about connecting people, preserving communities, and creating opportunities for future generations. Thank you to everyone who made this training possible. Together, we are building more than networks. We are building lasting partnerships.
