  2. Maximise time in the Flow Zone (aim for 20-30% of work time)
  3. Systematically move tasks from other zones toward Flow through skill building or challenge adjustment

Based on environmental psychology research, optimise your physical space for cognitive states:

The SPACE Protocol:

S - Setup: Dedicated workspace that signals "flow time"

  • Single-purpose area when possible
  • Consistent visual cues that prime focus
  • Remove multitasking temptations (close browsers, silence notifications)

  • Reduce micro-interruptions from searching for materials
