Negotiating trade agreements offers significant advantages for businesses operating internationally. By establishing predictable tariffs, companies can gain valuable foresight into costs. Consider a scenario where import duties are 20%. A bilateral agreement could reduce this to 10% for both parties involved, fostering easier negotiation and reducing reliance on any single nation. This strategic approach enhances flexibility and strengthens supply chain resilience. #InternationalTrade #BusinessStrategy #SupplyChain #Negotiation #GlobalBusiness

Uncertainty may be the biggest challenge for Canadian businesses right now, and as premiers push this week for a clear plan to confront US tariffs, one idea really stands out to me. Strengthening trade within Canada. We talk about open markets, but internal barriers still exist, provincial regulations that make it harder than it needs to be to sell goods and services across the country. Reducing those could make our businesses more competitive and it could provide a genuine boost to growth. Perhaps the most powerful step we can take isn’t just negotiating abroad. It’s also finally tearing down our own roadblocks at home. #tariffs #cusma #canadianbusinesses

𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 2026. The goal: more products with zero tariffs, smoother trade, better access in both directions. For Swiss manufacturing companies — this matters. Here is why: Switzerland already has one of the few direct free trade agreements with China in Europe — since 2014. That means Swiss companies already have an advantage most European competitors do not have. An updated agreement would extend that advantage further. But here is something worth thinking about: Trade agreements open doors. They do not walk through them for you. The companies that benefit most are those who already understand how China works – How suppliers operate – How quality is managed – How communication happens across cultures That knowledge takes time to build. The Swiss companies who invest in that understanding today will be better positioned when the new agreement comes into force. Not because of the tariffs. But because they already know the market. What do you think — is Switzerland making the right move by strengthening ties with China in 2026? 👇 #SwitzerlandChina #FreeTradeAgreement #SwissManufacturing #GlobalTrade #KMU

The United States has introduced new tariffs affecting imports from 60 trading partners, including Australia. While the headlines focus on the additional duties, the real question for Australian exporters is: What does this mean for my business? The impact will vary depending on the products being exported, existing supply agreements and who is responsible for the landed cost. With the new measures now in effect, it's a good time for businesses to review their pricing, contracts and supply chain strategies. In our latest blog, we break down what has changed, which products may be affected, and the practical considerations for exporters trading with the U.S. Read the full article on our website https://lnkd.in/gC_GSA7B
