Most people think "accessible restroom" = ramp + grab bars + wide door. It's not wrong, but it is missing something just as important: cleanliness. Why? Because a wheelchair ramp doesn't matter if the restroom at the top of it is too dirty to enter. Our Accessibility Consultant, Louis Do, who is blind, shared what it's like navigating public restrooms he can't visually check before using. "Cleanliness is never my favorite part of using any public facility... it takes very careful planning around bodily needs."
