Plantd built a fully electric production line that turns fast-growing grass into carbon-negative structural panels. The largest homebuilder in America signed for 10 million of them. There was no service manual or industry baseline for normal. Every production run had to become part of the record. Once Plantd shifted from testing to manufacturing, engineers were manually reconciling machine telemetry, operator notes, and panel quality across separate systems. Now the whole loop lives on one timeline in Sift. Each run is compared automatically against the baseline built during commissioning, linking product quality back to machine behavior. Plantd spent late 2025 learning its new machine. That record made 2026 a production ramp year. Full story in the comments.

Good referees and good control loops have one thing in common: when everyone is talking about them, something probably went wrong. ⚽
In paper, the control loop is the product. Hold tension, speed and position steady and the sheet runs clean at full speed. Let them drift a few percent and you're into breaks, scrap and off-spec rolls before anyone touches a setpoint. SAF’s engineers bring the mathematical depth to design those regulators and the floor experience to make them hold in a running mill. Talk to our team about your control loops: https://lnkd.in/eaA6QrAi #SAFDrivesInc #PulpAndPaperAutomation #ProcessControl #DriveSystems #ControlsEngineering

The answer is in... 👀 A lot of you got it right! It was a circlip, more specifically, an internal circlip. 🎯 Internal circlips are designed to fit inside a bore or housing, helping to securely retain components in place. They're small parts that play a big role in keeping machinery running reliably. Did you guess correctly? Let us know in the comments! 👇 #AbbeySeals #Circlip #Engineering #Manufacturing #SealingSolutions

Most plants troubleshoot bottlenecks by looking at machine speed. But a lot of lost time happens in the space between processes, where one line ends and the next begins. Product waits, operators shuffle it manually, and nobody logs that time because no machine "stopped." At Beacon Engineers, when we study a plant layout, we look as closely at the gaps as we do at the equipment. A five-foot handoff done by hand, repeated a thousand times a shift, adds up to more downtime than most breakdowns do. What does your busiest gap look like?

A cylindrical grinder tending project should begin with one verified accepted-part loop—not a staffing-ratio promise. Our engineering guide explains how to map the raw and finished datums, distinguish machine commands from confirmations, check real gripper access, time the complete service loop, and plan recovery tests: https://lnkd.in/gUZ7yng7 #IndustrialAutomation #MachineTending #Manufacturing

Some months ago, my students and I embarked on the biggest engineering project we have ever undertaken: building an integrated cassava sieving system. The Agro-Smart Hub combines automated conveyors, a sieving mechanism, a solar-powered energy station, a robotic truck for transporting the processed cassava, wireless communication, and embedded control. I have finally documented the project in full on GitHub. The documentation includes system diagrams, power calculations, wiring diagrams, controller pinouts, communication architecture, mechanical documentation, testing reports, and lots more. If you want to replicate, improve, or scale the project, be my guest. 🔗 GitHub: https://lnkd.in/eN-BG6uJ
