Everyone talks about AI clusters, cooling, and power. Almost no one talks about the circuits that actually move the data. One undocumented migration. One renewal that slips. One A-End to Z-End path that no longer matches reality. That’s when the chaos starts. Downtime doesn’t always come from a failed server or a thermal event. Sometimes it comes from a connection no one was watching — and the cost is measured in hours, revenue, and trust. Physical connectivity is the quiet foundation everything else stands on. Most teams still manage it with spreadsheets, tribal knowledge, and hope. We’re building the operational layer that finally tracks every circuit, every change, every risk. Orbnex Connect. A traffic Digital Twin that moves from detection to decisions SMART-TWIN explores how lane-level traffic simulation and machine learning could help identify normal traffic, signal-failure stop-and-go conditions, and one- or two-lane closures. Using a simulated intersection in Fresno, the study’s Random Forest model achieved approximately 99.9% classification accuracy under controlled test conditions. Many of the modelled disruptions were identified within one or two 10-minute intervals. The framework then translates the detected traffic state into estimates for backlog, delay and value-of-time impacts, creating a potential route from network monitoring to operational decision support. The important qualification is that this was a simulation-based Phase I demonstration. Live sensor integration, field validation and testing against noisy or incomplete data would still be required. #DigitalTwin #TransportTechnology #TrafficManagement #Infrastructure

A utility already replaced hardware spend with smarter data, and it worked. That's the argument Robbert Lodewijks at HULO.ai makes at the European Water Leakage Summit, and it cuts directly against the four stories in this week's 𝑼𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒇: a $𝟐𝟏𝟗 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 sensor acquisition, a £𝟏𝟑𝟗.𝟖 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 acoustic detection tender, a university algorithm outperforming the hardware utilities keep buying, and one utility's nine-year head start on all of it. Alfredo Garcia Vergara of leakmited and Jonas Porzelt from Diehl Metering are tackling the same tension from different angles, one scaling acoustic detection network-wide, the other pulling AI insight from data utilities already have. Daniel Bott of JUMO Nederland and Inge Diamond from Intellihub Group Australia round out the room, working the sensor and metering side of the same problem. The question every session in Amsterdam keeps circling back to: how much of this spend is buying visibility, and how much is buying a shortcut around better data. Should utilities interpret the data they already have before buying more sensors to collect even more of it? #WaterInfrastructure #NonRevenueWater #LeakDetection #SmartWater #WaterUtilities #WaterTechnology #WaterLoss #DigitalWater #AcousticSensing #WaterManagement
