Video surveillance architecture is entering a new era—one built around intelligent edge devices, cloud orchestration, and open ecosystems. In his latest article for the Security Industry Association (SIA), Oncam CTO Jon Marsh explores the architectural principles organizations should consider as they prepare for the future of video surveillance. If you're thinking about how to build systems that are more scalable, flexible, and AI-ready, this is a worthwhile read. 👉 https://vist.ly/5dees #VideoSurveillance #CloudSecurity #EdgeComputing #PhysicalSecurity

Understanding Video Surveillance Storage Economics: Modern cameras generate data faster than traditional architectures can economically retain it; Automatic overwrite is not merely inconvenient—it creates operational, legal, and financial risk; Existing storage technologies (SAN, NAS, cloud, tape) are not the problem; The missing component is an orchestration layer; Intelligent Video Lifecycle Management (IVLM) is that missing architectural layer; Cozaint's MARCIA™ is the first implementation of IVLM. The standard objection to AI security platforms is infrastructure cost. Samscloud addresses this directly: the platform is deployed on-premises on your existing servers, using your existing cameras and sensors. No cloud dependency. No hardware replacement. Total cost of ownership is more than 50 percent lower than hardware-replacement competitors. Patent-protected coordination technology running on the infrastructure you already own. That is the Samscloud deployment model. #SecurityROI #OnPremises #CostReduction #Samscloud #SafetyInvestment

𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁-𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 Highly automated mobile machines generate growing volumes of sensor, video and operating data. Processing this information locally and exchanging it with cloud services requires high transmission rates, low latency and sufficient computing power. The TCG.5 and TCG.nano extend the STW connectivity portfolio with 5G communication, more powerful processors and high-performance data interfaces. This provides a scalable basis for applications ranging from machine-to-machine communication to cloud computing and data-intensive automation processes. 📹 Most surveillance projects pick the recording architecture last. That's backwards. 🧩 NVR, VMS or cloud is not a budget line. It's the decision that determines whether the system still works when you add site number four. 🔹 NVR: one site, few cameras, simple. But one box is one point of failure. 🔹 VMS: many sites, one view. But more licensing and redundancy to plan. 🔹 Cloud: little local IT needed. But upload bandwidth and recurring storage cost. ☁️ 📊 And the number people skip: one 4 Mbps camera is about 43 GB per day. Fifty cameras is over 2 TB per day, moving through your internet connection. Do that math before anyone says "just put it in the cloud." ☁️ 🏢 Most GCC setups land on hybrid: record locally, manage centrally. 📖 We broke the whole thing down: bandwidth, storage, failure domains, access control, plus a decision matrix by business requirement: https://lnkd.in/gCi9429W 👉 Integrators: what makes you pick cloud over local recording on a project? #Surveillance #VideoManagement #VideoSurveillance #SecurityIntegrators #SystemsIntegration #NVR #VMS #CloudSecurity #SecurityInfrastructure #GCC #D3

I met someone from Arista Networks today. He shared their latest R4 platform strategy for AI and data centers. The main message was flexibility and openness. Customers can choose between fixed or modular platforms depending on their scale and requirements. Arista also positions itself as an open AI networking provider, meaning customers can use other AI accelerators without being locked into a specific ecosystem. The goal is to help customers optimize performance, cost, density, and power consumption while scaling their AI infrastructure. So what next with your Datacenter ?

📈 When Monitoring Becomes Effortless Many companies want predictive maintenance... But hesitate because installation appears expensive and complicated. That's exactly where Airius LTE-M changes the conversation. Wireless. Battery powered. Cloud connected. Quick to install. The easier it is to monitor your assets, the easier it becomes to prevent unexpected failures. Technology should remove barriers—not create them. 💡 Monitor more. Worry less. #WirelessMonitoring #Airius #SPMInstrument #PredictiveMaintenance #ConditionMonitoring #Reliability #IndustrialAutomation #MachineHealth

Fiber is often talked about as the network of the future, but in many ways, that future is already here. In a new Telecom Ramblings viewpoint, Bryan Lamphere, senior vice president of network planning and engineering at Fidium, explains why fiber is foundational infrastructure and how businesses should be thinking about implementing. It’s not just about faster speeds. A fiber-first network creates a simpler, more scalable operating model built to support the cloud, AI, video collaboration and always-on connectivity shaping how people and businesses operate. The question is no longer whether the industry will transition to fiber. It’s how quickly providers are prepared to act — and what becomes possible when fiber is the foundation.
