Returning from #PPLC2026 reminded me how much work is still ahead in blood cancers. While the science continues to advance, meetings like PPLC reinforce that progress only happens when researchers, clinicians, advocates, and industry come together around a shared goal: changing what's possible for patients. I'm leaving with a deeper appreciation for the conversations, new data shared and for the people across this community who continue to put patients first. Over half of therapy switching events among 35,000 US #prostate #cancer patients in this Indegene study occurred within the first 60 days of treatment, with many transitions planned rather than reactive. Vikas Mahajan, Associate Vice President, Data, Analytics and AI, Indegene, outlines how switching is rarely driven by just clinical progression; payer dynamics, access barriers such as plan limitations and refill restrictions, and treatment-continuity patterns were among the influential predictors — with payer channel ranking second only to treatment gaps as a model driver. Interestingly, certain #physician segments, particularly urology-led settings, emerged as a notable hotspot with higher switching rates, presenting a targeted physician engagement opportunity for pharma. Finally, FDA and others are beginning to realize the importance of real world evidence in supporting our clinical trials. Not every question can be answered in a randomized clinical trial. Moreover, trials don’t always look like the people we treat. I have worked on many HEOR projects with Ontada and others. Ontada gets it!
