I finally met a humanoid robot… and yes, we danced. Seeing these robots up close in Bangkok was very different from watching them online. Industrial robots are already at work, while the newer commercial robots are becoming more interactive, approachable, and surprisingly fun. The future is getting interesting. We handed SR-1 a tape measure and asked it to find the tip. We keep pushing the limits. This round we tested detection on very small objects. The trigger was the tip of a tape measure. SR-1 caught it and dropped the robot into slow, then stop. That is the whole point of fenceless safety. Detect what matters, react in real time, and keep people and heavy robots working side by side without a cage between them.
