🚨 Curium Pharma reportedly nearing $7B acquisition of Lantheus 🚨 According to Bloomberg, Curium is in advanced discussions to acquire Lantheus in a deal that could value the transaction at approximately $7B upfront and $8B including contingent value rights (CVRs). Reported terms include: • $102 per Lantheus share upfront • $12.50 per share in CVRs • ~$7B upfront valuation • Up to ~$8B including CVRs Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eFxEGp3E The timing is also interesting. In the same week, Curium: 🔹 Reintroduced Thallium-201 to the US market, following its withdrawal from production in 2022 amid recurring Tc-99m shortages. 🔹 Began teasing an unnamed Lu-177 dotatate product, potentially signalling a follow-on product to Lutathera. If completed, a Curium–Lantheus combination would be a major transaction for the radiopharmaceutical sector and another clear signal of the strategic value being placed on radiopharma assets, infrastructure and global distribution capabilities. 💰 Zealand Pharma Monetizes 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐝𝐞 Economics in $100 Million Royalty Deal Zealand Pharma has entered into a $100 million royalty purchase and sale agreement with Royalty Pharma, unlocking value from its non-core economic interests in rusfertide (PTG-300). 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 🔹 Zealand will receive $50 million at closing, with another $50 million due on the first anniversary 🔹 Royalty Pharma will acquire Zealand’s rights to a 1% royalty on potential global net sales, together with related regulatory and commercial milestones 🔹 Zealand will retain a 0.25% royalty on annual global net sales exceeding $1.5 billion Rusfertide is a potential first-in-class hepcidin mimetic being developed for polycythemia vera. The once-weekly subcutaneous therapy is designed to control excess red blood cell production by addressing underlying iron dysregulation. The FDA has set a Q3 2026 PDUFA goal date, while Takeda will be responsible for global commercialization. For Zealand, the transaction converts a future royalty stream into non-dilutive capital that can be redeployed toward its core obesity and metabolic-health pipeline—while preserving some upside if rusfertide reaches blockbuster-level sales. #Biotech #Pharma #RoyaltyDeal #ZealandPharma #RoyaltyPharma #Rusfertide #PolycythemiaVera #LifeSciences #Biopharma
