Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently ordered a halt to new data center projects that intend to connect to the state’s power grid. Abbot directed the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) to conduct a verification and audit of all data centers seeking approval through ERCOT’s interconnection process.
