Shield is winding down. And that is NOT a good thing, even for us. Shield was the first LinkedIn analytics tool that took the work seriously. When we got to the market, the bar was already high. Their analytics were the norm for all tools. Of course, we competed. And they pushed us to build a better product. 🤝 Seeing them go out of business is not fun at all. So the first thing I want to say is: thank you to the Shield team. 🛡️ The second thing is practical. If you used Shield, your data now has a clock on it. Export your CSVs now. It is still useful: https://lnkd.in/dBaTH_De And if you're looking for what's next, a short note on where AuthoredUp sits: 1. We don't have any trouble with the Chrome Web Store. We've had 3-4 releases in the last month. 2. We don't take your cookie or automate anything. It means more manual processing, and some data is unavailable. 3. You can rebuild your full post history via AuthoredUp. Nothing is lost. One more thing. We won't drop any promotion or discount codes. It is not fair to our existing users. If you're sorting through options this week, we're here. Free trial, no card. ---- For Shield's team, even though we never met, wishing you well. 🌳 Seven years of showing creators what works isn't nothing. ----- 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: We will have the "𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱" option by the end of May 19th. Works for individuals, agencies, and teams.
Great reaction by Ivana @ AuthoredUp but I am worried for AuthoredUp too. And I wonder when will AuthoredUp be next? Why Linkedin wants content creator without solid insights? Great content = more value for linkedin members = more engagement, more retention, more advertising inventory for Linkedin = more revenue for linkedinBlocking an analytic tool that serious content creators use without building an alternative => everybody loses... and it is certainely not a "members come first"* decision *first pillar of Linkedin values
Classy leadership here. I've used Shield and enjoyed Andreas's posts and their trajectory. Am now with AuthoredUp. Another thing for all entrepreneurs: be very very wary of the platforms you build on. Never forget you're just a renter.
Digging the class, leadership and integrity here. Oddly enough I stumbled across AuthoredUp a few weeks ago, started a free trial and it just ended yesterday. All feels aligned here Ivana Todorovic
This is a great response to their announcement, and a healthy mindset for competition in your space. I've used SHIELD over the years, and it's so unfortunate to see them shut down 🫤
I've been using AuthoredUp for six months now Ivana, and I'm so glad it's here to stay. It makes posting so much easier. I feel like it's the only reason I've been able to stay consistent ❤️
It's the toughest part of building a platform-dependent business. Hope everyone lands safely.
Ivana Todorovic when I read your posts, I just feel hopeful. Hopeful for more entrepreneurs with your spirit and values 💫
Thank you for showing how to treat a competitor with respect, Ivana - unlike Scripe: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/jesper-andersen-quantum_brand-reputation-communication-ugcPost-7462502913173667840-87sH/
A class-act post, Ivana Todorovic, nicely stated. For anyone wondering about AuthoredUp, give it a look. It's such a solid tool and I use it frequently.
The LinkedIn tools space is mostly AI growth-hacking noise. Shield was one of the few that was about understanding, not gaming. Hard to see one of those go.
