- [Instructor] It's important to understand that the business continuity plan doesn't stand alone. It's not just a single plan that has every piece of information you're ever going to need. The continuity plan essentially covers three main areas, protect the organization, recover in the event that's necessary, and then sustain operations. So within the continuity plan, we have sub-plans. So under protection, we have the crisis communication plan and the occupant emergency plan. Now, just to look at those specifically, the crisis communication plan is how we're going to notify our employees. Hey, we're operating in a different capacity. Maybe, like I said, could be as basic as we've had a snowstorm, don't come in today or evacuating the building, getting our people to safety, but ultimately letting our people know that we we're in disaster recovery phase one, or whatever phase we may be.
