VP of Construction and Development — Florida, the Gulf, and the Caribbean

Our client, a leading marina operator and one of the fastest-growing companies in the marine industry, is seeking an experienced VP of Construction and Development to oversee capital projects across Florida, the Gulf, and the Caribbean region. The VP will work from our client's West Palm Beach offices.


This executive-level position offers the opportunity to lead large-scale construction and development initiatives for a company that owns and operates premium marina facilities throughout North America and international locations. The successful candidate will drive strategic capital projects while building strong relationships with regional operations teams and key stakeholders.


What You'll Do:

  • Lead Regional Development: Direct all aspects of construction and development projects across the assigned region, ensuring deliverables meet scope, quality, timeline, and budget requirements
  • Strategic Project Management: Collaborate with regional leadership, engineers, and architects to determine project specifications and oversee the complete lifecycle from design through construction completion
  • Contract Negotiation: Secure profitable agreements with external vendors, contractors, and service providers, and obtain necessary permits and licenses
  • Team Leadership: Supervise onsite management teams across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications, budgets, and schedules
  • Stakeholder Management: Partner with regional vice presidents, general managers, construction teams, and operations personnel to ensure seamless project execution
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance on construction methods, equipment selection, and design interpretation while upholding the highest safety and environmental standards

What You Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years in operations and project management within civil or marine construction
  • Certification: Certified Construction Manager (CCM) accreditation preferred
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional business acumen, analytical abilities, and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Flexibility: Ability to travel 5–7 days monthly to project sites and work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
