The Title Examiner position will provide our new hire with the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the day-to-day bustle of a prestigious legal group’s Title Department. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Examine title reports provided by third party search vendors for mortgage foreclosure transactions
Identify necessary Defendants to a judicial mortgage foreclosure action
Identify parties required to receive notice of a non-judicial foreclosure action
Identify superior interests, title defects and title curative issues
Utilize online search portals for in-house tax and title searches
Ability to use online tools to plot metes and bounds legal descriptions
Knowledge of using online websites to obtain aerial views of the subject property
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
3-5 years of title examination experience is required – preferably in the mortgage foreclosure arena
Superior organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and efficiency
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
Experience using PDF applications such as Adobe Acrobat and eCopy to markup title reports
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience performing paperless title examinations
Preferred Qualifications
Multi-state examination experience, preferably in some or all of the following states: CA, DE, GA, KY, IL, MD, NC, OH, SC, TN, TX, MI and VA
