What You Will Do
The Teacher is a non-exempt position responsible for the provision of academic instruction in basic academic areas (science, social studies, math, reading, writing, physical education, and English as a Second Language (ESL) based on academic skills assessment completed for each child at the Unaccompanied Children (UC) facility.
Coordinate with Lead Teacher on the placement of each child based on their academic skills assessment.
Assist with curricula development and ongoing class material preparation
Tutor children in small groups, occasionally one-on-one, in the areas of science, social studies, math, reading, writing, physical education, and ESL
Coordinate with Lead Teacher on the need for school liaison services or other support and enrichment services that could improve the overall successful adjustment of childrens� academic life in the United States
Complete required program documentation (as per the Agency and Program policies and procedures) according to professional standards
Assist with cultural orientation/acculturation to students and families regarding US schools, practices, customs, laws and regulations
Assist with planning and publicity for Program events
Enter academic reports and progress notes, including transcripts, grades, and assessments, in UC's case files and portal
Attend and monitor education field trips
Document daily class attendance UC�s case files
Perform other duties as assigned

What You Will Need
Minimum of an Associate's degree in education, human services or a related field;
Bachelor�s Degree in related field preferred
Two (2) years of experience working with children
Knowledge of educational teaching skills, human services, human development.
Experience in education/teaching/tutoring preferred
Must obtain/maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
Bilingual communication skills in Spanish /English, required.
Skilled in cross-cultural or multicultural environments.
Must have a valid drivers' license with auto insurance coverage.
