Hawkwood is partnering with a truly innovative social impact technology business as it builds its presence across the US.
We have already supported this business with key hires in London and have seen first-hand how deeply its mission runs through the organization. Its technology and AI are helping frontline professionals spend less time on administration and more time supporting people.
Following significant growth, the company is now looking for its first dedicated Talent Partner in the US.
About the opportunity:
As the first talent hire on the ground in the US, you will work closely with the founders, senior leadership, and an established Talent team in London.
Your initial focus will be building the commercial organization, particularly across Sales and GTM, before expanding your remit as the US business scales.
You will not be inheriting a finished US hiring playbook. You will help create it.
From developing sourcing strategies and designing assessment processes to shaping the employer brand for a new market, your work will form the foundation of the company’s US talent function.
This is an opportunity to combine hands-on recruiting with genuine strategic influence, while contributing to a product that is making a measurable difference to people’s lives.
About the role:
Owning the complete hiring lifecycle for critical US Sales, Commercial and Marketing positions
Building high-quality pipelines across Account Executive, SDR/BDR, Customer Success and Marketing talent
Partnering with founders, senior leaders and hiring managers to define role requirements, hiring plans and assessment processes
Developing creative sourcing strategies to engage outstanding candidates in a highly competitive market
Establishing the company’s employer brand in the US and creating a compelling story for candidates who may be discovering the business for the first time
Delivering a thoughtful, transparent and high-quality candidate experience throughout every process
Using Ashby and hiring data to track performance, identify blockers and continuously improve recruitment outcomes
Building the processes, frameworks and local market knowledge that will enable the US organization to scale successfully
Collaborating closely with the experienced global Talent team while operating with real autonomy in the US
What we’re looking for
Essential - experience working within early-stage businesses, ideally between pre-seed and Series B
Building teams from 0-1 in the GTM vertical - AEs, SDRs, BDRs, and other commercial talent
The ability to operate independently and confidently as the first talent specialist in a market
A proactive and resourceful approach, with the willingness to remain hands-on with sourcing and delivery
Strong stakeholder-management skills and the confidence to advise founders and senior leaders
A data-informed approach to recruitment, including pipeline reporting, channel analysis and process improvement
Excellent organization and the ability to manage multiple, varied searches simultaneously
Genuine enthusiasm for using the latest technology to address complex social challenges and improve outcomes for disadvantaged people
Experience as a first or founding talent hire would be particularly valuable, as would experience supporting an international company as it expands into the US.
