Infrastructure Engineer / Systems Administrator
San Jose, CA
Contract position
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance a complex hybrid environment spanning on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure cloud services.
This is a highly technical role focused on core infrastructure engineering, cloud services, networking, storage, virtualization, backup and recovery, and enterprise systems administration. The ideal candidate will have deep experience designing, supporting, troubleshooting, and optimizing infrastructure environments at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud services
Manage enterprise Backup & Recovery environments, including Veeam
Support Hybrid Active Directory and identity services
Manage public DNS infrastructure and related services
Support file sharing and storage platforms
Administer and support SFTP services
Manage VMware virtualization infrastructure
Monitor and maintain infrastructure performance and availability
Support multi-site enterprise environments and hybrid cloud initiatives
Troubleshoot complex server, network, storage, and cloud infrastructure issues
Participate in infrastructure design, architecture, and modernization efforts
Collaborate with team members on operational support, upgrades, and strategic initiatives
Required Qualifications
7+ years of Infrastructure Engineering or Systems Engineering experience
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
Experience supporting both cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments
Strong understanding of cloud networking and cloud storage concepts
Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Recovery
VMware administration experience
Strong knowledge of Active Directory and hybrid identity environments
Experience administering DNS services
Experience supporting enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
