Job Summary

The Quality Assurance & Safety Manager is responsible for maintaining and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety Programs across domestic and international operations. This role provides independent oversight to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and drive a culture of quality and safety. The position emphasizes quality assurance (systems and prevention) rather than inspection-based quality control.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & QMS

  • Maintain and improve the QMS in compliance with ISO standards.
  • Standardize and enforce quality processes across engineering and assembly operations.
  • Monitor system effectiveness through metrics, audits, and reviews.
  • Lead and oversee root cause analysis and CAPA activities for all quality nonconformities, ensuring timely resolution, effectiveness, and sustained compliance.
  • Review and update the qualified supplier program, implement necessary improvements, and ensure ongoing compliance and maintenance of qualified suppliers.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations to adjust quality control standards to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensure proper control of documentation and quality records.

Safety Management

  • Develop and enforce safety programs aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and conduct training.
  • Perform audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Track safety performance and implement improvements.

· Ensure proper control and maintenance of safety records.

Audit, Compliance & Risk

  • Execute internal audits and manage external audits (ISO, regulatory, customer).
  • Ensure audit readiness and maintain certifications.
  • Identify risks and advise leadership on mitigation and resource needs.
  • Provide independent reporting on quality and safety performance.

Continuous Improvement & Support

  • Define standards for processes and work product.
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve product quality and reliability.
  • Support customer and field quality issues and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field
  • 7–10+ years in quality assurance, safety and environmental within manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Domestic and International products and work safety standards
  • Experience with ISO-compliant systems and multi-site operations
  • Experience with QC monitoring and measuring techniques

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CQM, CQE, or equivalent
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt)

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of QMS, audits, and safety regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer proficiency, including advanced use of Microsoft Office Products and experience with a variety of business and quality management software applications

Physical requirements, and/or working conditions:

· Regular exposure to some disagreeable elements such as fumes, air-borne particles, vibrations and noise.

· Domestic and international travel may be required to visit job sites and subsidiaries.

This role ensures independent, effective management of quality and safety systems to support compliance, reduce risk, and enhance operational performance.
