The Production Lead produces product, meeting or exceeding established standards by means that may include assembly operations up to and including complex machinery.
In addition, mentor and develop associates in meeting production goals and requirements while focusing on safety, quality, delivery and cost. Assist in continuous improvement, training and development, auditing, and become an “expert” in the fabrication processes.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Lead Roles/Responsibilities
Mentor and develop associates
Assist in training and development
Complete new hire orientation and ISO training forms
Support and recommend cross training needs
Look for ways to eliminate waste and recommend to supervisor/Operation manager
Facilitate 3 way communication as needed
Actively participate in committees
Participate in continuous improvement brain storming and processes
Support quality mission, near miss reporting and other company programs
Supervise and ensure the safety and quality of the shift in accordance with company policies
Accurately produces quality product by use of machines
Maintains machine
Performs preventative maintenance as scheduled
Performs corrective maintenance as qualified
Produces product by assembly
Assembles finished product by use of sealing equipment, band saws and other operations

Packs finished goods
Operates compactor
Physical Demands
Stand, walk, kneel and climb as needed
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25lbs and on occasion lift and/or move 50 lbs with/without the use of material handling equipment
Climb up to eight feet on occasion
Ability to communicate clearly with other associates and contract labor
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience
Work cell environment experience preferred
1-2 years as a lead or in a developing role to be a lead
EDUCATION &/or CERTIFICATIONS
High school graduate or equivalent
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
ERP/MRP experience/skillset
Adept communication skills
Ability to read a ruler within 1/16 inch accurately
Knowledge of using a calculator
Basic math skills, including calculating linear/square footage and work with fractions
Read/Understand blueprints
