Duties
The duties and responsibilities for a GS-2210-15 Assistant CIO, Technology position, generally include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conditions of employment
To qualify for the position of Assistant CIO, Technology, at GS-2210-15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service, performing duties such as: developing enterprise technology strategies and modernization plans; leading enterprise technology governance initiatives; evaluating and recommending emerging technologies for organizational adoption; developing technology standards, policies, or governance frameworks; leading or overseeing artificial intelligence governance or enterprise technology innovation initiatives; integrating cybersecurity and risk management principles into enterprise technology planning; advising executive leadership regarding enterprise technology investments and modernization priorities; leading enterprise technology programs that support organization-wide mission requirements.

The duties and responsibilities for a GS-2210-15 Assistant CIO, Technology position, generally include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Serving as the senior enterprise technology strategist responsible for defining and advancing the Civil Division's long-term technology vision and modernization strategy.
- Coordinating with cybersecurity, privacy, procurement, records management, and technology organizations to establish enterprise AI governance practices.
- Evaluating cybersecurity risks associated with AI-enabled technologies; integrating cybersecurity principles into enterprise architecture decisions, and establishing technology acquisition and implementation guardrails.
- Developing enterprise technology strategies that align technology investments, capabilities, and modernization efforts with organizational mission requirements.
- Providing administrative and technical supervision to a staff of information technology specialists responsible for enterprise technology strategy, architecture governance, AI governance, emerging technology evaluation, and modernization activities.
- Developing multi-year technology roadmaps addressing emerging technologies, enterprise platforms, automation, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Evaluating industry trends, Federal technology initiatives, commercial technology developments, and emerging capabilities to identify opportunities for enterprise adoption.
