Turns out Barilla knows a pretty good recipe for recognition, too. Barilla Group wanted a recognition program that could reach employees across its North America locations, including their frontline teams. Today, those teams are using the program almost as much as their corporate coworkers. With 44% of program logins happening on mobile, recognition can meet employees closer to where their work actually happens. See how Barilla and Workhuman have partnered together for 9 years to build a recognition experience that delivers results year after year.

Recognition language inside one company quietly shifted from "great progress" to "great job trying to disentangle this ball of wires we thought was an easy solve." Nobody raised it in a status meeting. In the latest episode of Work Tech Weekly, Steve S. sits down with KeyAnna Schmiedl, Chief Human Experience Officer at Workhuman, to make the case that recognition data is a more honest, real-time read on strategy execution than any engagement survey. She says a stated company value doesn't count for much until employees are actually recognized for practicing it.

HR leaders are carrying a lot right now. Recognition infrastructure can help lighten the load. By making meaningful recognition easy to share across every role, function, and location, organizations create more moments where people feel valued, says Workhuman's own Lynette Silva Heelan. That helps employees see the impact they’re making. It also gives HR leaders a more sustainable way to build a culture where appreciation doesn’t rest on their shoulders alone. Hear her advice for HR leaders from Workhuman Forum London.

A good recognition platform makes saying "thank you" easier. The best ones turn those moments into something more. That’s why we’re especially proud to be named a Leader in the Everest Group Rewards and Recognition Solutions PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2026. Everest Group recognized Workhuman for combining employee recognition with actionable workforce intelligence. We're helping organizations strengthen culture, yes, but we're also helping them get more visibility into the skills, collaboration, and leadership happening across desk-based and frontline workforces. And in turn, we're thankful for our customers, partners, and employees for helping us raise the bar for recognition (and for giving us plenty to celebrate).

Recognizing a coworker for a job well done seems easy… until you’re staring at a blank screen, wracking your brain for a single thing to say. Good thing we have Workhuman Product Evangelist Navin ‘nuvs’ Jain to help us out. At Workhuman Forum London, he shared three steps for writing meaningful recognition: describe the behavior, name the skill, and explain the impact. That extra detail makes great work more visible, especially for those who don't always get the spotlight. Save this framework for the next time someone’s work deserves more than just a “great job.” #WHForum2026

It was a real pleasure to spend time with Jon Ihle recently at our Dublin office. My thanks to him and The Sunday Times for such a thoughtful conversation. We covered AI, the future of work, Workhuman's journey over the past 25+ years, and something I've believed since the company was founded: that people do their best work when they feel seen. I thought they chose the perfect pull quote: “When people are appreciated they feel lifted. And then they're freer to do the best kind of work.” That's absolutely what excites me most about this next chapter for Workhuman. AI shouldn't replace our humanity. It should help us do the best work of our lives. I'm grateful to Jon for the conversation, and to everyone at Workhuman who has spent the last quarter century proving that recognition isn't not only the right thing to do for humans, but also one of the richest sources of insight into how work really gets done. If you happen to come across this weekend's Sunday Times, I hope you enjoy the read.

Firing HR won’t fix a people function that was set up to fail. If HR seems reactive and process-focused, that's because there's a gap between what it was originally designed for and what today's businesses need it to achieve, as Workhuman's own KeyAnna Schmiedl writes in Fortune. HR's function isn't the problem; the design is. Read more of KeyAnna’s take at the link in the comments.

A little recognition for recognition. We love to see it. Workhuman has been named a Leader across multiple categories in the G2 Summer 2026 Report, based on feedback from the people who use our platform every day. We’re proud of the badges, but we're even prouder of what they represent: real employees feeling seen, valued, and appreciated at work. Swipe for their stories.
