Today, thousands are still navigating policy shifts and new challenges: ➡️Changes to Temporary Protected Status for Afghanistan ➡️Evolving immigration legislation ➡️Families remaining stranded and separated overseas in Qatar These are among a few of the realities that our Afghan allies are facing five years later. 🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ggpFbwkM 🇦🇫Support: https://www.nooneleft.org/

When Heather, a Rotary leader and former U4U sponsor, signed up to become a Citizen Guide, she knew she would help an aspiring American study for their citizenship exam. What she didn’t expect was the level of understanding and friendship that could come from the experience. Paired with Szymon, a North Carolina resident from Poland, they spend their sessions not just studying U.S. history, but swapping stories and bonding over their love for local barbecue. You can be the person, like Heather, cheering an aspiring American across the finish line to earn citizenship. 📖Read their full story: 🇺🇸Become a Citizen Guide: Welcome.US/citizenship #BeAWelcomer #Citizenship #CivicEngagement

🚨 Don’t miss the opportunity to use your voice and protect newcomers’ right to work. Submit your public comment before Aug. 4! The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has proposed a rule that could deeply impact newcomers, local businesses, and communities across the country. ⚠️ If finalized, the rule would heavily restrict or eliminate employment authorization for humanitarian parole recipients, deferred action recipients, and more. Without the ability to work, these families will struggle to afford basic necessities like food and rent—but you can make a difference. By law, federal agencies must review public feedback before finalizing a rule. 👉Submit your comment before Aug. 4 https://lnkd.in/gtq2uuW2
