As 800 V battery systems become the standard in electric vehicles and 800 V power architectures continue to expand across AI data centers, accurate high-voltage sensing is more critical than ever. While voltage division can be achieved using multiple discrete resistors connected in series, this approach can reduce overall measurement accuracy. Each resistor is manufactured separately and may exhibit slightly different electrical characteristics, tolerances, aging behavior, and temperature coefficients. In a Chip Divider Module Assembly (CDMA), the resistor elements are integrated on the same substrate. Because the elements are produced using the same materials and manufacturing process, they age together and maintain highly consistent performance over time. In addition, sharing a common substrate ensures both resistor elements operate at nearly the same temperature, providing superior temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) tracking. This minimizes ratio drift across temperature and enables more accurate and stable voltage measurements in demanding high-voltage applications.
