  • Venti has been selected by a top North American intermodal railroad to bring AI-powered AV solutions to terminals across the U.S. in a bold strategy to reduce costs and improve safety. This will mark the first full-production use of autonomous container trucks in a large U.S. intermodal facility. Under a long-term collaboration, the Class 1 railroad will deploy trucks customized with Venti’s proprietary precision-navigation technology, including software, sensors, and components, in fully operating rail yards. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Venti’s technology will initially be deployed at two of the busiest intermodal facilities in the United States and will load, move, and unload containers in full operational production without a driver in the vehicle. The company expects to deploy 100-plus autonomous container-moving trucks in eight of the railroad’s sites by 2027 and to grow the deployment to more than 600 by the end of the decade. A joint steering committee will govern the implementation and milestones. Venti is the only company outside China that has successfully operationalized physical AI autonomy for moving goods in heavy-logistics customer environments. “We are pleased to be chosen to help our partner truly re-invent the supply chain at this important time,” said Heidi Wyle, PhD, Founder and CEO of Venti Technologies. “We share a common commitment to people, innovation, efficiency, and safety and a belief that transformation will yield numerous benefits for the world long into the future.” #Venti #AutonomousTrucks #SelfDriving #AutonomousLogistics #AutonomousVehicles #PhysicalAI #Intermodal #RailLogistics #SupplyChainInnovation Announced on Business Wire: https://lnkd.in/g_ThWT6v

Venti has solved one of autonomy’s hardest challenges: Operating safely, reliably and productively, 24/7, in complex real-world logistics environments - and is now ready to scale across the US. Thank you Ted Merz, CFA, for featuring our Founder and CEO Dr Heidi Wyle and highlighting the journey she began with MIT’s Prof Daniela Rus and Venti's CSO Dr XINXIN DU. The View from the Office. I met up with Heidi Wyle, founder and CEO of Venti Technologies, at the Bryant Park Cafe. We started with guac and chips. I had the quinoa salad. She had a turkey burger. Venti builds autonomous trucks that move shipping containers inside enclosed logistics environments including ports, rail yards, airports, factories and warehouses. The trucks never touch public roads, which distinguishes the tech and business from self-driving cars. It’s a big opportunity. About $55 billion of goods move across the United States every day, and Heidi cites estimates of hundreds of billions of dollars lost each year to inefficiencies as containers transfer between ships, trains and trucks. Venti and its customers believe autonomous trucks will create a new moving goods paradigm that will save customers 40% to 65% of shipping costs and billions of dollars. Venti was founded in 2018 by a team with roots at MIT. Co-founders include Daniela Rus, professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Director of CSAIL, the university’s largest lab, and XINXIN DU, Venti’s CSO. Rus spent a year at MIT’s Singapore program, and her relationships there helped recruit an experienced team. Customers include two of the top US intermodal railroads and PSA, the world’s second largest port operator with 77 ports. Venti’s trucks have been running 24 hours a day in the Singapore port, the world’s second-largest container port, for two and a half years, with about 30 vehicles in operation. The company aims to sign long-term agreements with other ports, warehouses, airports, and railroads to bring autonomous container trucks to intermodal and supply chain terminals across the U.S. Heidi draws a clear line between her business and robotaxis. She says moving people at highway speeds on public roads is a different mathematical problem. Venti operates trucks at yard speeds but must navigate cranes, trains, forklifts and human-driven vehicles in dense industrial environments. She said the hardest part of the business has been getting autonomous trucks to run safely, reliably and productively in live operations, around the clock. It took five years. Heidi grew up with immigrant parents and earned a PhD from MIT and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She sold a previous startup she founded with two faculty members. Venti has 110 full-time employees across the U.S. and Singapore. Heidi said she interviews every new hire personally and shakes their hands. Her goal is to hire the “best of the best,” down to the janitor. She judges candidates on professional excellence and character. She cited Harvard Business School research that says corporate culture is set by the person at the top which is why she said she takes monthly global team meetings seriously. Every employee gets equity. You can connect with Heidi via LinkedIn or DM me for a warm intro.

Congratulations to Mr Chong Meng Tan on his appointment as Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers. For all of us at Venti, this news is especially meaningful. Mr Tan, fomer PSA International Group CEO, was among the earliest industry leaders to recognize the potential of autonomous vehicle (AV) technology in real-world logistics operations. At a time when AV technology was still largely unproven in complex industrial environments, he gave Venti the opportunity to demonstrate what was possible. That early support helped lay the foundation for what has become one of the world's largest and longest-running deployments of AV logistics systems, operating at scale and delivering real-world impact every day at one of the world's busiest ports. As Venti Founder and CEO Dr Heidi Wyle shared: "I remain deeply grateful for Chong Meng's willingness to embrace innovation, challenge conventional thinking, and create opportunities for new technologies to succeed. His early support helped turn a bold vision into reality." On behalf of everyone in Venti, congratulations Mr Tan. We wish you every success in your new role. Today at MTX - Milipol TechX, Dr XINXIN DU made it clear in his talk: the future isn’t just about autonomous vehicles (AVs), it is about orchestrated AVs. Here are his key takeaways: - AV is scaling fast—buses, trucks, airports, rail, even drones - The real gap: multiple systems, zero interoperability - Venti’s edge: end-to-end autonomy + fleet orchestration - Proven at scale: 30 vehicles, 24/7, no safety drivers “In the future, vehicles from different agencies and systems will all be connected to one centralized platform—coordinating operations and maximizing efficiency,” said Dr Du, Venti's Chief Scientific Officer. Over the past four months with HATCH - HTX’s innovation centre for accelerating & validating public safety technologies - Venti has developed an AV-agnostic Fleet Management System with a unified API layer, enabling a single platform to monitor and control both Venti and third-party AVs. This marks a critical shift from standalone AV deployments to coordinated, multi-agency operations at scale. If you’re looking at where autonomy delivers real value—this is it. 👉 Come talk to us (Kai Wei See, XINXIN DU, Melissa Wong, Yuting Zhu) at Booth L1-H21-17 🎟️ Free exhibition pass available for tomorrow (30 Apr) - the last day at Sands Expo, Singapore #MilipolTechX #AutonomousVehicles #AI #SmartLogistics #Innovation #Singapore #GoVenti
