  • A thriving community takes all of us.💫 Our funded nonprofit partners are at the heart of this belief. Together, we create an ecosystem of support in Chattanooga. Earlier this week, we had the opportunity to come together with these incredible partners for our annual Funded Partner Breakfast. It was a chance to reconnect, build new relationships, and learn from one another as we focus on supporting ALICE families in our community. The energy in the room was inspiring, reminding us just how much is possible when we come together around a shared purpose. Learn more about why we invest in local nonprofits and how those investments are strengthening our entire community at https://hubs.la/Q04t5gVb0. United is the way!

Community Engagement in action: 1 day you are curating backpack stuffing events and educating folks on ALICE households and the next you are delivering 80 backpacks to a local school to ensure all kiddos get an equal opportunity to start their school year out right! If you or your company is interested in hosting an Onsite Volunteerism event, where we bring the volunteering to you, hit me up! Happy to schedule a time to dive deeper into Onsite Volunteerism and how you can help our community grow stronger! United Way of Greater Chattanooga

  • This summer, we celebrated the one-year mark of our Impact Cohort! This three-year collaborative, fueled by a $6.6 million investment from United Way, is made up of 19 all-star local nonprofits. By sharing resources, learnings, and expertise, this group uses each other's distinctive strengths to amplify our shared work: building an ecosystem of support in our community, and especially for our local ALICE families. In just one year, collaboration has already led to exciting new initiatives. The YMCA and Crabtree Farms are helping bring fresh food to families throughout the summer. The Chattanooga Area Food Bank and Signal Centers are creating workforce pathways, while Chattanooga 2.0 and Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise are strengthening family engagement in Alton Park. And this just skims the surface. Learn more about the Impact Cohort and the powerful ways they're collaborating to strengthen Chattanooga at https://hubs.la/Q04rxvXb0.

Since stepping into the role this year, she’s already bringing thoughtful, steadying leadership, and we’re so excited for what’s ahead. We are proud to continue as part of United Way of Greater Chattanooga's Impact Cohort! A first-of-its-kind three-year investment in local nonprofits serving ALICE families with children. The Impact Cohort is more than funding. It is a collaborative network of 19 organizations working together to strengthen outcomes for families across our region. During our first year, cohort members built relationships, shared knowledge, strengthened referral pathways, and began identifying opportunities for deeper collaboration. Through shared learning, advocacy efforts, and collective problem-solving, we are building a stronger nonprofit ecosystem that better supports working families. Together, we are advancing two-generation solutions that support both children and their caregivers, helping families build long-term stability and opportunity. As we enter Year 2, we are focused on turning connections into action by deepening partnerships, strengthening community voice, and identifying new ways to work together on behalf of ALICE families.

  • Volunteering makes our community so much stronger. Even serving for just one hour can have incredible ripple effects. Visit ihelpchattanooga.org today to get involved in a local volunteer opportunity that matters to you! 💚

Spent part of my day today volunteering with United Way of Greater Chattanooga Emerging Leaders program at the Chattanooga YMCA’s Food and Fun Kitchen! During the summer, the YMCA packs around 1500 meals each day for kids around the city. It was fun to be a part of the action and see how much of a difference they’re making in our community. Emory Evans, MPH and I make a great packing team! 👏

  • Some of the best solutions for our community haven't been tried yet. 🚀 That's why the Catalyst Fund exists: to accelerate promising, innovative strategies for ALICE households – those that are working hard but still struggle to make ends meet. The Catalyst Fund is just one piece of our broader community investments process, which invests $3.3 million across 52 local organizations. To learn more about how we're investing in Chattanooga's nonprofit ecosystem and to meet the full list of funded partners, visit https://hubs.la/Q04qt93j0.
