Maryland State Bar Association – MSBA reposted this
Earlier this summer, it was such an honor and a true blessing to serve as the keynote fireside chat for the Maryland State Bar Association’s Leadership Luncheon and to offer closing reflections for the Women, Law & Leadership in a Changing Landscape Luncheon. What made the Maryland State Bar Legal Summit even more special was reconnecting with so many people who have poured into me. It was also a true blessing to witness my friend Natasha Dartique become President of the Maryland State Bar Association. I am thrilled for her leadership and grateful for her dedication to excellence and service. Bravo my friend!! From an early age many of the lawyers and judges present were people who encouraged me, opened doors, challenged me, believed in me, and helped shape both my career and the woman I am today.During my remarks, I was blessed to be interviewed by then-MSBA President Marisa Trasatti about the power of relationships, the importance of embracing opportunity, and the determination it takes to navigate a changing landscape while remaining grounded in purpose. We talked about the law not simply as a profession, but as a powerful tool for to strengthen communities, transform neighborhoods, and, ultimately, change history. I shared some of the lessons that have carried me throughout my own journey: that talent and intelligence may open doors, but relationships are what help you navigate the rooms once you enter them. That opportunities often come disguised as challenges. And that our greatest responsibility is not simply to achieve for ourselves, but to use whatever influence, access and opportunity we have to create pathways for someone coming behind us. Thank you, MSBA and it’s phenomenal Executive Director Anna Sholl, for the honor and for creating space for such an important conversation. I am never missing another MSBA Legal Summit. It was phenomenal! I am grateful to God for the journey. Grateful for the people. And grateful for every opportunity to pour back into others. #msba #relationshipsmatter #CountYourBlessings Maryland State Bar Association – MSBA University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law Shara Boonshaft Anna Sholl Marisa A.
